RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF REDDING IMPLEMENTING STAGE 1 OF THE CITY'S
DROUGHT MANAGEMENT PLAN, A VOLUNTARY
CONSERVATION PROGRAM AS DESCRIBED BY CITY OF
REDDING ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the State of California is experiencing unprecedented drought conditions,
with 2014 projected to become the driest year on record; and
WHEREAS, on January 17, 2014, Governor Brown proclaimed a State of Emergency
and called upon local urban water suppliers and municipalities to implement shortage
contingency plans in accordance with their legally required urban water management plans; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redding operates a Water Utility with Central Valley Water
Project surface-water supplies subject to drought restrictions; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redding Water Utility conservation efforts will help ensure
water availability for the health and safety of the people of the State of California.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding
to implement Stage 1 of the City of Redding's Drought Management Plan as described in
Chapter 14.09 of the Redding Municipal Code and the City of Redding 2010 Urban Water
Management Plan.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read, and adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council on the 18`h of February, 2014, by the following vote:
