HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2013-094 - Amend City Council Policy No 204 J. ; ~ e e RESOLUTION NO. 2013-094 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING AMENDING CITY COUNCIL POLICY NO. 204 ENTITLED PULLING ITEMS FROM COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA WHEREAS, on November 17, 1987, the City Council adopted Policy No. 204 describing procedures for removing items from a City Council agenda; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to amend Council Policy 204, Removing Items from Council Meeting Agenda, as recommended by City staff to conform the policy with current practice as stated on the City Council's consent calendar; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council that the Council Policy No. 204, Removing Items from Council Meeting Agenda, be amended as set forth in the update attached hereto and made a part hereof by this reference. PURPOSE To establish the guidelines to be followed in voting upon and/or removing items from the City Council consent calendar to allow discussion and public comment. POLICY 1. It shall be the prerogative of any Council Member, before the consent calendar is acted upon, to: .1. Comment on any item; 2. Respond to any public comment on an item; 3. Request the record reflect an abstention or nay vote on an item; 4. Remove an item and place it on the regular portion of the agenda for delivery of a staff report and/or extended discussion or deliberation.
