RESOLUTION NO. 2013-047
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING APPROVING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TARGETED
EMPLOYMENT AREA (TEA) AND SUBMISSION OF
APPLICATION FOR THE SHASTA METRO ENTERPRISE ZONE
WHEREAS, the Shasta Metro Enterprise Zone is. submitting an Application to the State
Enterprise Zone Program, Department of Housing and Community Development for designation
of a Targeted Employment Area (TEA}; and,
WHEREAS, the Application for the Targeted Employment Area consists of Census Tracts 10 1-
105, 107.03, 107.04, 108.06, 109, 110.02, 112.09, 113, 116, 117.02, 117.03, 118.03, 120, 121.01.
121.02, 123.01. 126.01. 126.04, 127.01. 127.02 located in the City of Redding, the City of
Anderson, the City of Shasta Lake, and the County of Shasta; and
WH~REAS, at least 51 percent of the residents in each of these tracts are of low- or moderate-
income levels using the most recent Unites States Department of Census data available; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redding is a jurisdiction in the Shasta Metro
Enterprise Zone and identifies these residents are in most need of employment targeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council ofthe City of Redding as follows:
1. The attached boundaries of the Targeted Employment Area, which consist of Census
Tracts 101-105, 107.03, 107.04, 108.06, 109, 110.02, 112.09, 113, 116, 117.02, 117.03,
118.03, 120, 121.01. 121.02, 123.01. 126.01. 126.04, 127.01. 127.02, are hereby
approved as set forth on the attached map (Exhibit A).
2. The inclusion of these Census Tracts in the Targeted Employment Area is conditional
upon the consent of the City Council of the City of Anderson, the City Council of the
City. of Shasta Lake, and the Board of Supervisors of the County of Shasta as
jurisdictions in the Shasta Metro Enterprise Zone.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and read at a Regular
Meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 21 st day of May, 2013, and was duly
adopted at said meeting by the following vote: .
