RESOLUTION NO. 2012-060
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING TO AMEND THE FEDERAL WATER MANAGEMENT
PLAN AS REQUIRED BY THE UNITED STATES BUREAU OF
RECLAMATION AND PURSUANT TO SECTION 210 OF THE
RECLAMATION REFORM ACT OF 1982
WHEREAS, the Department of the Interior, United States Bureau ofRec1amation, requires
that water purveyors, as a condition oflong-term water-service contracts for Central Valley Project
water prepare a Federal Water Management Plan, the primary objective of which is to plan for the
conservation and efficient use of water, and;
WHEREAS, the City of Redding is a United States Bureau ofRec1amation water contractor
providing water to a population of approximately 90,000 people; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Redding has therefore prepared a Federal Water Management Plan
which incorporates Best Management Practices and will submit its Plan to the United States Bureau
ofRec1amation; and,
WHEREAS, the' City of Redding, in accordance with United States Bureau ofRec1amation
guidelines and current criteria, will re-evaluate and resubmit its plan at least once every five years
or as conditions warrant;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Federal Water Management Plan with
current Best Management Practices Implementation Measures is adopted by the City of Redding.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read, and adopted at
a regular meeting ofthe City Council on the 17th day of July, 2012, by the following vote:
