RESOLUTION NO. 2012-053
SANITARY SEWER MAINTENANCE DISTRICT SSMD 01-07 (HOPE LANE)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
APPROVING THE REPORT OF THE ENGINEER AS FILED AND DECLARING ITS
INTENTION TO:
(1) SET A PUBLIC HEARING DATE REGARDING SANITARY SEWER
MAINTENANCE DISTRICT SSMD 01-07
(2) LEVY AND COLLECT ASSESSMENTS IN SANITARY SEWER MAINTENANCE
DISTRICT SSMD 01-07 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2012-13 PURSUANT TO THE
IMPROVEMENT ACT OF 1911
WHEREAS:
A. The City Council heretofore ordered the consolidated formation of Sanitary Sewer Maintenance
District 01-07 (District) under authority granted by the Improvement Act of 1911, Chapter 26,
Maintenance Districts, Streets and Highways Code of the State of Cali fomi a, Section 5820, et seq.
B. The purpose of the District is to provide maintenance to the sewer lift station improvements
required by the conditions of development approval of Hope Lane Subdivision, S-12-03, generally
located east of Hope Lane at the intersection with Carnegie Drive.
C. The Engineer has filed his Report with the City Clerk.
D. The assessment for Fiscal Year 2012-13 is not an increase, because the cost ofliving adjustment
provided for herein was approved at the time of the formation of the District
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THAT:
1. The matters set forth above are true, correct, and are adopted herein.
2. The Report of the Engineer, as filed, is hereby approved.
3. The Report of the Engineer, on file with the City Clerk, contains a full and detailed description of
the improvements, the boundaries of the District, and the proposed assessments upon the
assessable lots within the District.
4. The existing improvements for the District are set forth in Part B of the Engineer's Report, on file
with the City Clerk.
5. The general locations of the lots in the District are set forth in Part A of the Engineer's Report, on
file with the City Clerk.
6.
Only costs for maintenance and repairs to the sewer lift station, including electric and water
charges; replacement of pumps, force mains, and appurtenances; maintenance of any buildings or
structures housing sewer lift station facilities; other improvements to remove or cover graffiti;
administrative costs; and such other maintenance and incidental expenses as are authorized by
Streets and Highways Code Sections 5821, will be assessed.

7. A public hearing will be held on July 17, 2012, at the hour of 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as
the matter may be heard, in the City Council Chambers located at 777 Cypress Avenue, Redding,
California, to address the confirmation and approval of the proposed assessment for Fiscal Year
2012-13. The proposed assessment for Fiscal Year 2012-13 is $376.28, and the proposed levy is
$299.91.
8. The method of calculating the annual assessment is set forth in Part C of the Engineer's Report, on
file with the City Clerk, under the column entitled "Assessment District Revenue."
9. That the City Clerk shall give notice of said public hearing.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution of intention was introduced, read, and adopted at a
regular meeting ofthe City Council on the 19th day of June, 2012, by the following vote:
