RESOLUTION NUMBER 2012-052
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING APPROVING THE
REPORT OF THE ENGINEER AS FILED AND DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO:
1. SET A PUBLIC HEARING DATE REGARDING THE FOLLOWING LANDSCAPE
. MAINTENANCE DISTRICTS.
2. LEVY AND COLLECT ASSESSMENTS IN THESE DISTRICTS FOR FISCAL YEAR
2012-13 PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972,
COMMENCING WITH SECTION 22500 OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE
WHEREAS:
A. The City Council heretofore ordered the consolidated formation of the following Landscape
Maintenance Districts under authority granted by the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972 as
set forth in Part 2 of Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State ofCalifomia.
B. The purpose of these Districts is to provide maintenance to those landscaping improvements
required within the public rights-of-way and/or easements by the conditions of development
approval for each District and the general locations as outlined in the table below.
C. The Engineer has filed his Report with the City Clerk pursuant to Streets and Highways Code
Section 22565, et seq.
D. This Resolution is made in satisfaction of those requirements set forth in the Streets and
Highways Code Section 22624.
E. The assessment for fiscal year 2012-13 is not an increase within the meaning of Streets and
Highways Code 922624 and 22630.5 because the cost-of-living adjustment provided for herein
was approved at the time of the formation of the District.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THAT:
1. The matters set forth above are true, correct, and are adopted herein.
2. Pursuant to the Streets and Highways Code 922623, the Report of the Engineer as filed is hereby
approved.
3. The Report of the Engineer, on file with the City Clerk, contains a full and detailed description of
the improvements, the boundaries of the District, any zones therein, and the proposed assessments
upon the assessable acres and remaining parcels within the District.
. 4. The existing improvements for each subdivision in the District are set forth in Part B of the
Engineer's Reports on file with the City Clerk.
5.
The general locations of the acres and remaining parcels in the District are set forth in Part A of
the Engineer's Reports on file with the City Clerk.

Only costs for the maintenance of landscaping, miscellaneous lighting, mulching, vandalism,
repairs to the irrigation system, electric and water charges, replacement of vegetation as
necessary, removal of trimmings, rubbish, and debris, maintenance of the detention basin, and
other improvements to remove or cover graffiti, administrative costs, painting of any walls, and
such other maintenance and incidental expenses as are authorized by Streets and Highways Code

7. A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at the hour of 6:00 p.m., or as soon
thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the City Council Chambers located at 777 Cypress
Avenue, Redding, California, to address the confirmation and approval of the proposed
assessment for fiscal year 2012-13. The proposed assessment for fiscal year 2012-13 is outlined
in the table below, it being the intention of the Council to levy said assessment in the amount as
also indicated in the table below for fiscal year 2012-13.
8. That the City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing pursuant to the Streets and Highways Code
S 22626(a).
