RESOLUTION NO. 2011 - 70
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT "B" (MISCELLANEOUS)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
APPROVING THE REPORT OF THE ENGINEER AS FILED, AND
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO:
(1) SET A PUBLIC HEARING DATE RE LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE
DISTRICT "B."
(2) LEVY AND COLLECT ASSESSMENTS IN DISTRICT "B" FOR FISCAL
YEAR 2011-12 PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING
ACT OF 1972, COMMENCING WITH SECTION 22500 OF THE
STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE.
WHEREAS:
A. The City Council heretofore ordered the consolidated formation of Landscape Maintenance
District "B" (District) under authority granted by the Landscaping and Lighting Act of
1972, as set forth in Part 2 of Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California.
B. The purpose of the District is to provide maintenance to those landscaping improvements
required within the public rights-of-way and/or easements by the conditions of
development approval of Alder Creek (Hacienda Heights), Units 7A, 7B, 8 and 9, generally
located near the intersection of Shasta View Drive and Palacio Drive; Almaden Estates,
Units 1 and 2, generally located at the intersection of Placer Street and Buenaventura
Boulevard; Carriage Glen Estates, Units SA, 5B and 6, generally located east of Shasta
View Drive near Castlewood Drive; Darsha Lane, generally located south of Old Alturas
Road off Oak Mesa Lane; East Redding Estates, Unit 1, generally located east of Victor
Avenue on the south side of East Cypress Avenue; Forest Homes, Phase 3, Unit 3,
generally located at the intersection of Shasta View Drive and Leonard Street; Girvan
Estates, Unit 1, generally located at Girvan Road and Pit Road; Gold Hills, Units 3A, 5, 6,
Rl, and R2, generally located in various locations at the east side of Gold Hills Country
Club; Heritage Oaks, generally located south of Old Alturas Road off Oak Mesa Lane;
Highland Oaks, Unit 4, generally located at the intersection of Shasta View Drive and
Castlewood Drive; Land Park, Units 1,2,3,4, and Rl, generally located west of the
intersection of Buenaventura Boulevard and Sutro Mine Road; Monterey Springs, Units 1
and 2, generally located at the intersection of Chum Creek Road and Palacio Drive;
Mountain View Heights, Unit 4, generally located west of Shasta View Drive near Palacio
Drive; Oak Meadows Estates, Unit 1, generally located east of the intersection of Shasta
View Drive and Galaxy Way; Oak Mesa Estates, Unit 2, generally located south of Old
Alturas Road off Oak Mesa Lane; Quail Hollow, Unit 3, generally located north of the
intersection of Chum Creek Road and Palacio Drive on Olympic Street; Ravenwood
Estates, Units 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 18, generally located near the intersection of Old
Alturas Road and Rose Tree Lane; Robles North, Units 1 and 2, generally located at the
intersection of Meadow view Drive and Robles Drive; Shasta View Manor, Unit 1,
generally located near the intersection of Tarmac Road and Charade Way; St. Thomas

Heights, Unit 1, generally located at the intersection of Hilltop Drive and St. Thomas
Parkway; Stillwater Heights, Units 1, 2, 3, and 4, generally located at the intersection of
Old 44 Drive and Carson Drive; Tierra Bendito, generally located south of Old Alturas
Road off Oak Mesa Lane; and White Hawk Estates, Unit 3, generally located at the
intersection of Teton Drive and Crescent Moon Drive.
C. The Engineer has filed his Report with the City Clerk pursuant to Streets and Highways
Code Section 22565, et seq.
D. This Resolution is made in satisfaction of those requirements set forth in the Streets and
Highways Code Section 22624.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THAT:
1. The matters set forth above are true, correct, and are adopted herein.
2. Pursuant to the Streets and Highways Code ~22623, the Report of the Engineer, as filed, is
hereby approved.
3. The Report of the Engineer, on file with the City Clerk, contains a full and detailed
description of the improvements, the boundaries of the District and any zones therein, and
the proposed assessments upon the assessable acres and remaining parcels within the
District.
4. The existing improvements for each subdivision in the District are set forth in Part B ofthe
Engineer's Report, on file with the City Clerk.
5. The general locations ofthe acres and remaining parcels in the District are set forth in Part
A of the Engineer's Report, on file with the City Clerk.
6. Only costs for the maintenance oflandscaping; miscellaneous lighting; mulching;
vandalism; repairs to the irrigation system; electric and water charges; replacement of
vegetation as necessary; removal of trimmings, rubbish, and debris; maintenance of the
detention basin; and other improvements to remove or cover graffiti, administrative costs,
painting of any walls, and such other maintenance and incidental expenses as are
authorized by Streets and Highways Code Sections 22526 and 22531, will be assessed.
7. A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at the hour of6:00 p.m., or as
soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the City Council Chambers located at 777
Cypress Avenue, Redding, California, to address the confirmation and approval of the
proposed assessment for Fiscal Year 2011-12. The proposed assessment for Fiscal Year
2011-12 is $71.00 (not an increase from the previous year), it being the intention of the
Council to levy said assessment in the amount of$71.00 for Fiscal Year 2011-12.
8. That the City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing pursuant to the Streets and Highways
Code Section 22626(a).

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution of intention was introduced, read, and
adopted at a regular meeting ofthe City Council on the 21st day of June 2011, by the following
