RESOLUTION NO. 2010 - 70
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
SUMMARILY VACATING A 40-FOOT-WIDE ROAD EASEMENT ON
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2077, 2163 AND 2165 COLLEGE VIEW
DRIVE (A-3-10)
WHEREAS:
A. A 40-foot-wide road easement on property located at 2077,2163 and 2165 College
View Drive was dedicated on the map of White Oak Subdivision, recorded May 24, 1939, in
Book 5 of Maps at Page 55, Shasta County Records (hereafter called the Easement).
B. The owner of the property has asked that the City vacate the Easement, as described
in Exhibit A and shown hatched on Exhibit B, attached and made a part hereof by reference, as it
has not been used for a period of over 5 years and is no longer needed for the purposes for which
it was dedicated.
C. The Engineering Division of the Public Works Department has advised the City
Council that there are no in-place public facilities that are in use or would be affe.cted by the
proposed vacation, and that the Easement, as described in Exhibit A and shown hatched on
Exhibit B, is not required for public use.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DETERMINES, RESOLVES AND
ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council elects to proceed in this matter under the provisions of the California
Streets and Highways Code, Section 8333.
2. The City Council approves the request to summarily vacate the Easement as described in
Exhibit A and shown hatched on Exhibit B.
3.
The easement has not been used for a period of over 5 years, and is not needed for the
purposes for which it was dedicated; it is not required; and there are no public facilities
that are affected by this vacation. Therefore, from and after the date this resolution is
recorded, the Easement, as described in Exhibit A and shown hatched on Exhibit B, shall
be vacated in its entirety and no longer constitute a easement for road purposes.

4. The City Clerk is directed to cause a certified copy of this resolution of vacation, attested
by the Clerk under seal, to be recorded in the office of the Shasta County
Assessor/Recorder.
