RESOLUTION NO. 2010 - 17
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
ADOPTING AN ADDENDUM TO THE HOUSING ELEMENT MITIGATED
NEGATIVE DECLARATION AND AMENDING THE HOUSING ELEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted the General Plan on October 3, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the current Housing Element ofthe General Plan was adopted in 2004 and state law
requires that the Housing Element be updated/amended every five years to include current data,
respond to any changes in Housing Element law, review progress made toward attaining established
housing goals, and establish an action program for the next five-year Housing Element planning
peri od; and
WHEREAS, amendments to the Housing Element have been made in accordance with the
requirements of Housing Element law, referred to as General Plan Amendment Application GP A-2-
09; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed public hearing pertaining to GP A-2-09
on January 12,2010, and recommended that the City Council adopt amendments to the Housing
Element; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed pertinent documents prepared in accordance
with the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act and recommended that an
Addendum to the Mitigated Negative Declaration that was adopted for the current Housing Element
be adopted for GP A-2-09 after consideration of all testimonial and written evidence submitted prior
to and during the aforementioned public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing on GP A-2-09 on February 2,2010;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Redding California
as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The City Council has reviewed the proposed Addendum and has determined that the actions
contemplated will not have an adverse impact on the environment.
3. The City Council hereby adopts the Addendum and the attached amendments to the General
Plan for GP A-2-09 as referred to the City Council by the Planning Commission.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 2nd day of February, 2010, and was fully adopted
at said meeting by the following vote:
