RESOLUTION NO. 2009 - 164 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING, APPROVING THE ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDS Of $65,496 FOR THE TIRE-DERIVED PRODUCT GRANT FISCAL YEAR 2009-10 (NINTH CYCLE) FROM THE CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD WHEREAS, Public Resources Code sections 40000 et seq. authorize the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) to administer various Grant Programs in furtherance of the State of California's efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle solid waste generated in the State, thereby preserving landfill capacity and protecting public health and safety and the environment; and WHEREAS, in furtherance of this authority, the CIWMB is required to establish procedures governing the application, awarding, and management ofthe grants; and WHEREAS, Grant Application procedures require an Applicant's governing body to authorize by resolution its approval for submittal of the Grant Application identified below, and the designation by job title of the individual authorized to execute all Grant documents on behalf of the City of Redding; and WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board awarded a Tire-derived Product Grant of $65,496 for Fiscal Year 2009-1 0 (Ninth Cycle) to the City of Redding, and the City of Redding will enter into a Grant Agreement with the CIWMB for implementation of said Grant; and WHEREAS, the City of Redding qualified to receive Tire-derived Product Grant funds from California Integrated Waste Management Board; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding does hereby authorize the acceptance of the Tire-Derived Product Grant funds of $65,496 for Fiscal Year 2009-10 (Ninth Cycle) from the CIWMB. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this authorization is effective for July I, 2009, through June 30, 2012; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager or hislher designee, the Director of Municipal Utilities, is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Redding all grant documents, including but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments, and requests for payment, necessary to' secure grant funds and implement the approved grant project. ~ ~ 0\ ..c:.. . :, . .
