RESOLUTION NO. 2009 - 73
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT "C" (Miscellaneous)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
APPROVING THE REPORT OF THE ENGINEER AS FILED, AND
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO:
(1) SET A PUBLIC HEARING DATE RE LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE
DISTRICT "C."
(2) LEVY AND COLLECT ASSESSMENTS IN DISTRICT "C" FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2009-10 PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING AND
LIGHTING ACT OF 1972, COMMENCING WITH SECTION 22500
OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE.
WHEREAS:
A. The City Council heretofore ordered the consolidated formation of Landscape Maintenance
District "C" (District) under authority granted by the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972,
as set forth in Part 2 of Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California.
8. The purpose of the District is to provide maintenance to those landscaping improvements
required within the public rights-of-way and/or easements by the conditions of development
approval of Blossom Park, Units I, 2, 3, 4, 5, RI and R3, generally located near the
intersection of Chum Creek Road and Constitution Way; Chum Creek Park, including Unit
RI, generally located near the intersection of Chum Creek Road and Constitution Way;
College Highlands, Units 1,2,3, and 4, generally located near the intersection of Shasta View
Drive and Simpson Way; Fairway Estates, Units I and RI, generally located at the east end of
Poppy Hills Drive; Forest Hills Estates, Units I and R1, generally located at the south end of
Heritagetown Drive; and Potter Manor, Unit 1, generally located at the intersection of Shasta
View Drive and Galaxy Way.
C. The Engineer has filed his Report with the City Clerk pursuant to Streets and Highways Code
Section 22565, et seq.
D. This Resolution is made in satisfaction of those requirements set forth in the Streets and
Highways Code Section 22624.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL THAT:
1. The matters set forth above are true, correct, and are adopted herein.
2. Pursuant to the Streets and Highways Code g22623, the Report of the Engineer, as filed, is
hereby approved.

3. The Report ofthe Engineer, on file with the City Clerk, contains a full and detailed description
of the improvements, the boundaries of the District and any zones therein, and the proposed
assessments upon the assessable lots and remaining parcels within the District.

4. The existing improvements for each subdivision in the District are set forth in Part E of the
Engineer's Report, on file with the City Clerk, under the column entitled "Improvements."
5. The general locations of the lots and remaining parcels in the District are set forth in Part A of
the Engineer's Report, on file with the City Clerk.
6. Only costs for the maintenance oflandscaping; miscellaneous lighting; mulching; vandalism;
repairs to the irrigation system; electric and water charges; replacement of vegetation as
necessary; removal of trimmings, rubbish, and debris; maintenance of the detention basin; and
other improvements to remove or cover graffiti, administrative costs, painting of any walls, and
such other maintenance and incidental expenses as are authorized by Streets and Highways
Code Sections 22526 and 22531, will be assessed.
7. A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, July 21,2009, at the hour of 7 p.m., or as soon
thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the City Council Chambers located at 777 Cypress
A venue, Redding, California, to address the confirmation and approval of the proposed
assessment for Fiscal Year 2009-10. The proposed assessment for Fiscal Year 2009-10 is
$7.46 (not an increase from the previous year), it being the intention of the Council to levy said
assessment in the amount of$7.46 for Fiscal Year 2009-10.
8. That the City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing pursuant to the Streets and Highways Code
Section 22626(a).
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution of intention was introduced, read, and adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council on the 16th day of June, 2009, by the following vote:
