RESOLUTION NO. 2009 - 66
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
COMMENDING CONNIE STROHMA YER FOR 33 YEARS OF
OUTSTANDING DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF REDDING
WHEREAS, Connie Strohmayer began her career in the Redding City Clerk's Office on June 14, 1976,
as a Secretary/Stenographer; and
WHEREAS, during Connie Strohmayer's 33 years of service with the Redding City Clerk's Office, she
was appointed Assistant City Clerk in 1981, appointed City Clerk in 1992, elected as City Clerk in 1994, and re-
elected in 1998, 2002 and 2006; and
WHEREAS, during her seventeen-year tenure as City Clerk, Ms. Strohmayer has demonstrated her
commitment to maintaining the integrity of the Office of the City Clerk and instilling the value of public
service by her example as evidenced by the many programs and activities she has instituted or participated in,
including:
. Providing competent, courteous customer service and acting as a liaison between the City
Council and the public;
. Providing a high level of efficience in the preparation of City Council Minutes;
. Preserving historical City documents;
. Championing the City-wide Records Management Program;
. Completion of the Records Retention Schedule;
. Upgrading records maintenance for microfilm-to-digital imaging;
. Increasing the effectiveness of the Business License and Dog License Programs;
. Supporting continuing education through participation in City Clerk's Association of California;
. Obtaining Certified Municipal Clerk status; and
WHEREAS, in addition to her busy schedule as City Clerk, Ms. Strohmayer has also demonstrated
outstanding community leadership in the following areas:
. Nor-Cal"Think Pink", breast cancer awareness - current President;
. Soroptimist International - "2002-03 Soroptimist of the Year" honoring her dedicated service
through events such as the annual Pioneer Luncheon and Mardi Gras night;
. California Association of Leadership Programs -1996 Distinguished Leadership Award;
. Leadership Redding - 2008 Alumnus of the Year and former Chair of Steering Committee;
. Shasta County Women's Refuge - former Vice President;
. Shasta County Violence Prevention Council - former Member;
. California Women Lead - North State Chapter Board Member;
. American Heart Association's Heartwalk - former Committee Member; and

WHEREAS, in performance of her duties and responsibilities, Connie Strohmayer has always served
the City of Redding with pride, professionalism and distinction;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redding hereby
expresses its deep appreciation to City Clerk Connie Strohmayer for her dedication, enthusiasm, and the
countless and long- lasting contributions she has made to the City of Redding and its citizens and extends its
best wishes.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the
Redding City Council ofthe City of Redding on the 16th day of June 2009, and was duly adopted at said
meeting by the following vote:
