ORDINANCE NO. 2425
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDDING AMENDING TITLE 11
(VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC), CHAPTER 32 (BICYCLES) OF THE REDDING
MUNICIPAL CODE BY REPEALING SECTIONS 11.32.010 THROUGH 11.32.060,
INCLUSIVE, RENUMBERING SECTIONS 11.32.070 AND 11.32.080 TO APPEAR
AS SECTIONS 11.32.010 AND 11.32.020, RESPECTIVELY, AND AMENDING
RENUMBERED SECTION 11.32.020, ALL RELATING TO THE ELIMINATION
OF BICYCLE LICENSURE AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Title 11, Chapter 32 (Bicycles), Sections 11.32.010 through 11.32.060, inclusive,
are hereby repealed.
Section 2. Title 11, Chapter 32 (Bicycles) Section 11.32.070 is hereby renumbered as Section
11.32.010 and shall read as follows:
11.32.010 (Operation Location Regulations).

Section 3. Title 11, Chapter 32 (Bicycles) Section 11.32.080 is hereby renumbered as Section
11.32.020 and amended to read as follows:
11.32.020 (Use of Unclaimed Bicycles or Toys for Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency).
Pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Section 217, as amended from time-to-time, any
personal property in the possession of the police department which have been unclaimed for a
period of at least ninety days may, after notice provided pursuant to subdivision (b) of Section 217
of the Welfare and Institutions Code, instead of being sold at public auction to the highest bidder
pursuant to the provisions of Section 2080.5 of the Civil Code, be turned over to the county
probation officer, the county welfare department, or any charitable or non-profit organization
which is authorized under its articles of incorporation to participate in a program or activity
designed to prevent juvenile delinquency and which is exempt from income taxation under federal
or state law or both, for the use in any program or activity designed to prevent juvenile
delinquency.
Section 4. The passage of this ordinance is not a "project" according to the definition in the
California Environmental Quality Act, and therefore is not subject to the provisions requiring
environmental review.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after the date of its adoption, and the City
Clerk shall certify to the adoption thereof and cause its publication according to law.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was introduced and read by the City Council
of the City of Redding at a regular meeting on the 18th day of November, 2008, and was duly read and
adopted at a regular meeting on the 2nd day of December, 2008, by the following vote:
