A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
AMENDING RESOLUTION 2002-51 AND AUTHORIZING THE RECEIPT
OF ADDITIONAL STATE GRANT FUNDS TO MATCH AN EXISTING FAA
AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (AIP) GRANT FOR THE
FOLLOWING CAPITAL PROJECT AT BENTON AIRPARK:
INSTALL SECURITY FENCING AND ACCESS GA TE MODIFICATIONS
WHEREAS, the City Council, on April 2, 2002, adopted Resolution 2002-51,
approving the filing of a State of California, Division of Aeronautics, application for grant
monies to match an existing FAA Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Grant for capital
projects at Benton Airpark; and
WHEREAS, the Airport Manager wishes to amend Resolution 2002-51 to reflect
increased State grant allocations now available; and
WHEREAS, the State of California, Division of Aeronautics has requested that the
City adopt a new resolution for the California Aid to Airports Program Grant Agreement for
State Aeronautics Funds; and
WHEREAS, the State of California, Division of Aeronautics has recommended that
the California Aid to Airports Program Grant Agreement for State funds be submitted in a
timely manner; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of the Project is $283,333, of which the City has received
90% or $255,000 from FAA Airport Improvement Program Grant funds, the fully-funded
10 percent match of $28,333 is approved for grant funding through the State of California,
Division of Aeronautics [an increase of $15,583 beyond the original application for State
grant funds of $12,750]; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Redding that the additional State
of California, Division of Aeronautics Grant funds be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Redding:
1. Amends Resolution 2002-51, adopted on April 2, 2002; and
2. Ratifies and approves receipt of State grant funds in the amount $28,333. The
total funding for the Benton Airpark project is set forth in Exhibit A attached and made a part
hereof; and
3. Authorizes the City Manager, or Gerard F. Kersten, Director of Support
Services, as his designee, on behalf of the City of Redding, to execute all necessary grant
forms and acceptances of the additional funding; and the City Clerk is directed to attest the
signature of the City Manager, or Gerard F. Kersten, Director of Support Services, as his
designee, and to impress the official seal of the City of Redding on the aforesaid
documentation, when appropriate.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced, read and
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 16th day of
December 2003, by the following vote:
