RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING AUTHORIZING APPLYING FOR FEDERAL
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE UNDER THE STATE
HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS:
A. The war in Iraq elevated a security threat in May and early April 2003 to the City of
Redding's power plant;
B. A security guard was provided at the City's power plant at 17120 Clear Creek Road,
Redding;
C. The cost of this security is eligible for grant funding under the State Homeland Security
Grant Program;
D. The amount of private security eligible for this grant is nine thousand one hundred and
twenty-three dollars ($9,123); and
E. It is the recommendation of the Redding Electric Utility staff that the City Council
authorizes the Electric Utility Director to apply for federal financial assistance under the State
Homeland Security Grant Program.
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding that the Electric
Utility Director of the City of Redding is authorized to apply for federal financial assistance under
the State Homeland Security Grant Program.
I HEREBY CERTIFY the foregoing resolution was introduced, read, and adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 2nd day of September2003 by
the following vote:
