HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2003-035 - Enterprise High SchoolRESOLUTION NO. 2003 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING COMMENDING THE ENTERPRISE HIGH SCHOOL TEAM #1 FOR WINNING REDDING'S 2003 REGIONAL SCIENCE BOWL COMPETITION AND THANKING ALL OF THE PARTICIPANTS, SPONSORS AND VOLUNTEERS THAT MADE THE SCIENCE BOWL A SUCCESS. WHEREAS, the United States Department of Energy sponsors the nationwide Science Bowl competition each year for high school students to participate in and display their knowledge and expertise in scientific fields and the Redding Electric Utility coordinates one of three regional competitions in the State of California; IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redding that: 1. The Council recognizes the Enterprise High School Team 1 of Redding California as the 2003 Redding Regional Science Bowl Competition Champions. 2. The Council commends the members of the Enterprise team, Anthony Corbelli, Bryan Carter, Andrew Day, Troy Kuersten, Kelly White, and their coach, David Peek for their achievement. 3. The Council encourages and supports the Enterprise team as it travels to Washington D.C. during the month of May 2003 to participate in the national finals competition and represents the greater Northern California region. 4. The Council also would like to recognize and thank the many local area businesses and residents that supported this year's Science Bowl through their contributions, including but not limited to: Simpson College, KMS, Inc., Energy Solutions, Letro Industries, T-Shirts Unlimited, North Valley Bank, Morpheus Lights, Wallner Plumbing, and the many individuals that volunteered their assistance.
