RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - 13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING RECOMMENDING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A GENERAL POLICY BIFURCATING THE CITY'S HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFIT PLAN FOR FUTURE EMPLOYEES IN RESPONSE TO GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTING STANDARDS BOARD STATEMENT 45 (GASB 45) SUBJECT TO FUTURE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AS MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDING ARE APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL WHEREAS, the City Council has discussed the implementation of a general policy bifurcating the City's health insurance benefit system for future employees in response to Government Accounting Standards Board Statement 45 (GASB 45), subject to future collective bargaining agreement negotiations which include the participation of employees who are Unrepresented or Represented by the Peace Officers Association of Redding, the Redding Police Management Association, the International Association of Fire Fighters, the Service Employees International Union, or the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City to adopt such a policy; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council that a general policy bifurcating the City's health insurance benefit system for future employees in response to GASB 45 be implemented subject to future collective bargaining agreement negotiations.
