RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 208
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING DECLARING
LAND LOCATED AT 850 QUARTZ HILL ROAD AS SURPLUS PROPERTY AND
APPROVING THE DISPOSITION OF SAID PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the City holds fee title to land approximately 113 acres in area located at 850 Quartz
Hill Road, as described in Exhibit A hereto (the "Property"); and
WHEREAS, each City department was consulted and no current or future municipal use was
identified; and
WHEREAS, Section 54222 of the Government Code requires that the City, prior to disposing of
surplus land, send to public entities a written offer to sell or lease the property as follows: for the purpose of
developing low- and moderate-income housing; for park and recreational or open space purposes; for school
facilities construction if the land is so suitable; for enterprise zone purposes if the land is located within a
designated enterprise zone; or for the purpose of development within a designated infill opportunity zone
established pursuant to Section 65088.4 of the Government Code; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council FINDS, RESOLVES, and ORDERS as follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct.
2. The Property is hereby declared surplus.
3. Sale of the Property by the City is categorically exempt from the requirements of the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Section 15312 of the CEQA
Guidelines (Surplus Government Property Sales).
4. The Property be offered for sale or lease as required by Government Code Section 54222.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting
of the Redding City Council on the 6th day of November, 2007, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the
following vote:

THE LAND REFERRED TO HERBN BELOW IS SfTlJATED IN THE QTY OF REDDING, COUN1Y OF SHASTA,
STATE OF CAUFORNIA, AND IS DESCRIBED AS FOllOWS:
The South one-half of the Southwest one-quarter and the Northeast one-quarter of the Southwest one-quarter
of Section 22, Township 32 North, Range 5 West, M.D.B.&M.
Excepting therefrom the following two (2) parcels:
Parcel One:
A portion of the Northeast one-quarter of the Southwest one-quarter of Section 22, Township 32 North, Range
5 West, M.D.B.&M., described as follows:
Beginning ata point on the North line of said Northeast one-quarter of the Southwest one-quarter, 200.00
feet West of the Northeast comer thereof; thence, West along said North line, a distance of 390.00 feet, more
or less, to a point 60.00 feet East of the Northwest comer of the Northeast one-quarter of the Northeast one-
quarter of the Southwest one-quarter of Section 22; thence, South 300.00 feet; thence, East 390.00 feet. more
or less to a point 300.00 feet South of the point of beginning; thence, North 300.00 feet to the point of
beginning. '
Parcel Two:
A portion of the Northeast one-quarter comer of the Southwest one-quarter of Section 22, Township 32 North,
Range 5 West, M.D.B.&M., as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of the Southwest one-quarter of said Section 22; thence, West along the
North fine of said Southwest one-quarter a distance of 150.00 feet; thence, South 300.00 feet; thence East
150.00 feet to the East line of said Southwest one-quarter; thence, North 300.00 feet to the point of
