RESOLUTION NO. 2007- 113
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING REQUESTING FUNDS FROM THE STATE WILDLIFE
CONSERVATION BOARD, CALIFORNIA FISH AND GAME AND
CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS
FOR THE AMENITIES TO A BOAT LAUNCHING FACILITY ON
THE SACRAMENTO RIVER AT SOUTH BONNYVIEW.
WHEREAS, the City of Redding is desirous of improving boating and fishing access at the
South Bonnyview Boat Launching facility to meet the needs of fishing persons and boaters on the
Sacramento River; and
WHEREAS, the project site is owned by the State of California, and is operated and
maintained by the City of Redding; and
WHEREAS, the State Wildlife Conservation Board, California Fish and Game and
California Department of Boating and Waterways is authorized to provide funds for fishing and
small craft access improvements; and
WHEREAS, the improvement of the fishing access to the Sacramento River will not be
detrimental to the operations of private fishing and boating businesses in the area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redding has provided a forum for comments, and it has been
determined the proposed improvements are needed to provide the public with adequate boating and
fishing access to this area of the Sacramento River; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redding has entered into a long term agreement whereby the City
is to provide for maintenance of the state-owned facility at no cost to the State;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
We, the City Council of the City of Redding, hereby requests that the above state agencies
provide the sum of approximately $500,000 for the purpose of improving boating and fishing access
to this area ofthe Sacramento River, at state-owned South Bonnyview site, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED
The City of Redding agrees to accept the collective sum of$500,000 and hereby appoints the
City Manager as agent of the City to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents,
including, but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments, billing statements, and so on,
which maybe necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and read at a regular
meeting ofthe Redding City Council on the 19th day of June, 2007, and was duly adopted at said
meeting by the following vote:
