RESOLUTION NO. 2006 - 198 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING REQUESTING FUNDS FROM THE STATE WILDLIFE CONSERVATION BOARD FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF A BOAT LAUNCHING FACILITY ON THE SACRAMENTO RIVER AT LAKE REDDING PARK. WHEREAS, the City of Redding is desirous of reconstruction a fishing access at the Lake Redding Park to meet the needs of fishing persons and boaters on the Sacramento River; and WHEREAS, the project site is owned by the City, and is operated and maintained by the City of Redding; and WHEREAS, the State Wildlife Conservation Board is authorized to provide funds for fishing access; and WHEREAS, the improvement of the fishing access to the Sacramento River will not be detrimental to the operations of private fishing and boating businesses in the area; and WHEREAS, the City of Redding has provided a forum for comments, and it has been determined the proposed improvements are needed to provide the public with adequate fishing access to this area of the Sacramento River; and WHEREAS, the City of Redding will conduct a feasibility report which shows the proposed project to be financially feasible and economically justified; and WHEREAS, the City of Redding is willing to enter in an agreement whereby the City is to provide for a minimum of 25 years of maintenance of the proposed fishing access at no cost to the State; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED We, the City Council of the City of Redding, hereby requests that the State Wildlife Conservation Board provide the sum of$326,020 for the purpose of reconstructing and renovating the concrete access ramp to this area of the Sacramento River, at Lake Redding Park, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED The City of Redding agrees to accept the sum of $326,020 and hereby appoints the City Manager as agent of the City to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including, but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments, billing statements, and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project. ~ o 0\ \ r- ~ ~ .. . e e I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced and read at a regular meeting ofthe Redding City Council on the 7th day of November, 2006, and was duly adopted at said meeting by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: ABSTAIN: ATTEST: COUNCIL MEMBER: COUNCIL MEMBER: COUNCIL MEMBER: COUNCIL MEMBER: , II," ~ " ... ~ r \.....
