AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDDING AMENDING REDDING MUNICIPAL CODE
SECTION 11.12.010 RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT
OF SPEED ZONES ON VARIOUS STREETS
The City Council of the City of Redding does hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1. Redding Municipal Code Section 11.12.010 is amended to read as follows:
11.12.010 Established on Certain Streets.
A. In accordance with the provisions of Sections 22357 and 22358 of the Vehide Code of the
State of California, the City has had Engineering and Traffic Surveys prepared by
Municipal Utilities in cooperation with the Police Department which surveys include the
streets or portions of streets set forth in this Chapter.
B. Considering the recommendations resulting from the surveys, City Council has determined
that the following speed limits shall be established to provide an orderly and safe
movement of traffic, and that such speed limits are reasonable in each respective street
location:

Section 2. The passage of this ordinance is not a "project" according to the definition in the
California Environmental Quality Act, and is therefore not subject to the provisions requiring
environmental review.
Section 3. The ordinance shall take effect 30 days after the date of its adoption, and the City
Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and cause its publication according to law.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced and read at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Redding on the 1 st day of November, 2005, and was duly read and
adopted on the 15th day of November, 2005, at a regular meeting of the City Council by the
following vote:
