SUBJECT: 4.11(d)--Adopt Resolution to Support the Association of California Water
Agencies' Vision for our Water Future
Recommendation
Adopt Resolution to support the Association of California Water Agencies' policy framework

an Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) member and annual dues are included in
the Water Utility's budget.
AZteNnate Action
The City Council may choose not to approve the resolution and provide alternate direction for
staff.
Backgound/Analysis
ACWA is a statewide coalition of 470 public water agency members collectively responsible for
90 percent of the water deliveries to cities, farms, and businesses in California. ACWA's mission
is to assist its members in promoting the development, management, and reasonable beneficial
use of good quality water at the lowest practical cost in an environmentally balanced manner.
Supporting ACWA's policy framework, Vision for Our Water Future, allows the City to
proactively advocate for local ratepayer relief, modern water rights proteetions, and state funding
ahead of the upcoming California gubernatorial ransition. Local water systems face constant
pressure from state-level regulatory mandates. Aligning with a statewide coalition ensures
Redding has a powerful, unified voice to influence incoming administration platforms.
This resolution has been approved to form by the City Attorney.
