A RESOLUTI�N 4F THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLI►ING
T'C! APPRCIVE THE AMENDED LC}CAL R(�AD SAFETY PLAN
WHEREAS, on February 15, 2022, Council aclapted the Local R.oadway Safety Plan for the City
flf Redding; and
WHEREAS,the Local Rc�ad Safety Plan includes a cit�wide analysis af the roadway system and
identifies safety countermeasures to help mitig�te primary crash trends and reduce the overall
cc�llision severity by addressing multiple challenge areas such as pedestrians, bicyclists, distracted
driving, intersections,ar�d aggressive driving; and
WHEREAS,the Local Rt�ad Safety Plan is a r�quirement for future�-Iighway Safety Impr�vement
Pragrarn(I-�SIP) and Safe Str�ets far All{S54A) grant applications; and
WHERErr�S, the P1an has b�en amended to remove intersectians in which countermeasures haue
been completed or are programmed in upcoming projects as well as incarporate additional
intersections and cc�untermeasures identified through public input to ensure the plan reflects
current community concerns, roadway safety needs and future project priorities;
N4W,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City Couneil af the Cit�of Redding hereby:
1. Determines that adoptian of the Amended Lacai Raad Safety Pla� is statutorily exempt
from the California Environmental Quality Act {CEQA} pursuant to the F'easibility and
Planning �tudies exemptic�n (14 CCR 15262), as the plan would nat result in physical
alterati�n of the environment and implementation of any future action would require
appraval, funding, and independent evaluatic�n under CEQA; and
2. Approves the amended Local Road Safety Plan.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the fc�regoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a regular
meeting af the City Council c�f the City of l2edding on the 19th day ofMay, 2�2b,by the following
