A RESCILUTION 4F THE CITY a►F REDDIlVG ADOPTING THE LIST OF
PRO.TECTS FQI2 FISCAL YEAR 2026�27 Fi7NDED BY SB 1. THE ROAD
REPAI�2 ACC+QUNTABILITY A�T(lF 2017
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 1 (�B 1), the Road Repair and Accr�untability Act c�f 2017 {Chapter 5,
Statutes of 2017} was passed by the Legislature and Sig�ed intt� l�w b� the Governc�r in April
201"7 in order to addr�ss the signlficant m�lti-modal transportation funding shortfalls statewide;
and
WHEREAS, SB 1 includes accountability and transparency pro�isidns that wi11 ensure the
residents of the City af Redding (City) are aware �f the projects proposed for funding in c�ur
cornmunity and vvhich projects have been completed each fiscal y�ar; a�d
WHER:EAS, the City must include a list af all projects (Attachment A} proposed to receive
funding from the Road Maintenance and Rehabilitati�n Account (RMRA), created �y SB l, in
the City budget, which must include a description and the location of each propased project; a
proposed schedule for t1�e project's completion, and the estimated useful Iife af the improvement;
and
WHE AS, the City will recei�e an estimated $2,63fl,375 in RMRA fiu�ding in Fiscal Year
2026-27 from SB l; and
WHEREAS,this is the tenth year in which the City is receiving SB 1 funding and will enable the
City to cantinue essenti�l road maintenance and rehabilitation prc��ects, safety improvements,
increasing access and mobility options for the traveling public that wauld not have otherwise been
pc�ssible without SB1; and
WHEREA5,the City has undergane a public process to enswre public input into nur community's
project list; and
WHEREAS, the City used a Pavement Management System to develop portians of th� SB 1
project list to ensure revenues are being used on the mast high-priority and cost-effective projects
that also meet th�eomrnunity's�xiorities fc�r transport�tion investment; and
WHEREAS, the funding from S� 1 will help the City maintain and rehabilitate streets and roads
and add active transportation infrastructure throughout the City this year and numerous similar
projects inta the future, and
WHEREAS, the SB 1 project list and overall investment in our local streets and roads
infrastructure vvith a focus on basic maintenaz�ce and s�fety, investing in complete streets
infrastructure, and using cutting-edge technology, materials and practices, will have sigr�ificant
pasitive ca-benefits statewide;
NQW THER�F(J , BE IT �OLVED THAT the City Cauncil of l�edding, County of
Shasta, State ofCalifornia, accepts the propflsed projects which will util'rze �iscal Year 20�6-
27 Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation revenues in tiheir delivery. With the listing of
these prajects in the adopted fiscal year resolution, the City is reaffirming to the public and
the State our intent to fund these projects {Attachment A) with Road Maintenance and
Rehabilitation Account revenues funded by SB 1, the Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation
Account far Fiscal Year��26-27,
