A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDDING
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON SHORT STREET
AND CENTER STREET WITHIN THE BLOCK BOUNDED BY `IM SOUTHERN
PACIFIC RAILROAD, TEHAMA STREET AND CALIFORNIA STREET EASTERLY
OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD IPI THE CITE' OF REDDING
WHEREAS, certain real property has been heretofore dedi-
cated to the use of the City of Redding, County of Shasta, State
of California, and said reaa). property consists of Short Street and
Center Street, public streets within the block bounded on than East
by the Southern Pacific Railroad, on the Worth by Tehama Street and
on the East by California, Street, as the same are stet forth on map
and plan on file In the office of the City Clerk of the City of
Redding, and as the same are more particularly described as follaus:
All that certain parcel of land shomn as an >;?tn bored
'or undesignated area on the reap of the TaZum of Redding,
Shasta County, California, recorded Septa 25, 1872 in
Bootie of Old Plato at page 65, Shasta County Records and
being tore particularly described as follows
BEGINTING at the Northwest corner of Block 13, as shown
on said map of the Town of Radding, and ruming thence
We6terly along the South line of Shastta. Street as said
street is projected Westerly from the Worthwest corner
of said Block 13, a distance of 147.00 feet, more or less,
to a point on the Enoterl.y lime of the parcel of land
described in the deed from J. B. Haagggi n to Central Pacific
Railroad Company, dated September 23, 1872, recorded Oct.
19 1872 in Bootie 5 of Deeds at page 1220 Shasta County
Records; thence Southerly aloes the Easterly line of the
parcel so described in deed to Central Pacific Railroad
Company to the intersection with the Northerly line of
the parcel of land described in the deeds from J. B. Haagen
gin to than Central Pacific Ra.il1 roaad Company, dated Oct o

page 124, Shasta County Records, thence Easterly along
the North line of the parcel of land so described, in
deed last referred to, to as point on the West lite of

ornia Street to the Southeasterly corner of said Block
13; thence Westerly along the Southerly line of said

its intention to vacate and close up Short Street and Center Street
East of the Southern Pacific Railroad, South of Tehan Street and
West of California Street, as more particularly described hereinabove
and situated in the City of Redding, County of Shaotaq State of
California, all in accordance with the map and plan on file in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Redding,;,,-, to which map and
plan reference in hereby m&de for particulars an to the proposed
Tacation9 and it is hereby declared that all proceedings hereunder
are.taken subject to the reservation and exception above set forth.
DE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Monday, the let day of June,
19649 at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M. at the City Council Chambers
d Police,Department tment Bui.ldi in the City of Redding are hereby
set as h® time and place for hearing all persons interested in or
objecting to the closing of the said streets
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works
be and he 3n hereby instructed to post or cause to be conspicuously
posted at points not more tban three hundred (300) feet in distance
app Md along the line of the subject street@ hereinabove described
notices of this intention to vacate and close up mid streets
Said notices chall not forth the paomige of this Resolution of In-
tention and shall also set forth the tim wd place of hearing as
hereinabove set forth. At least three such notices as above net
forth shall be posted, in the Winer above tett forth s and posting
of mid notices shall be completed not Ism than ten ( I? C) daps
prior to the date of hearizZ.
DE IT ETHER RESOLVED that the City Clark oball certify
to the paste and adoption of this Resolution of Intention and

circulation printed in the City of Redding at least 15 days before
the date set for public %earson s of protests to the afore -said Pro-
posed vacation.
