� A�, Tztle VIII of the 1968 Civil Rights Act{Federal Housing Law)prohibits discrimination
in the sale,xental, leasing and financing af housing ar land to be used for the construction af ht�usin�
or in the provisian of brokerage services because of race, color, ancestry; national origin, religion,
physical disabilities, gender, age, and marital/familial status;and
W E A�, it is the policy of the C1ty of Redding to implement prograrns to ensure equal
opportunity in housing fc�r all persons regardless of race, color, aneestry, national origin, religion;
physical disabilities, gender, age, and maritaUfamilial status, and
�VHE r�S,the City of Redding will�ssist all persons who feel they have been discriminated against
beGause of race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, physical disabilities, gender, age, and
marital/familial statu�to seek equity under federal and state laws by praviding inforrnatianal material
and the necessary forms to file a compiaint with the California Department of Fair Housing or the
U.S.Department of Housing and Urban Development;a�d
WHE AS, the City of Redding annually distributes informatianal brochures and letters with
current rebulations to landlords and real estate agents ta make them aware of tl�eir respective
responsibilities and rights; and
WHE AS, the City of Redding, in canj�.�nction with variaus federal, st�te, and local entities, has
selected April as an c�pportunity to educate the community an its rights and responsibilities as tenants
and landlords;
N��, T�TE�tEF�77R�, BE IT RES�d��EI� that the City Council af the City of Redding hereby
declares April as``Fair Housing Month"in the City of Redding as part of the natic�nal effort to educate
tenants and landlards on their rights and respansibilities under the Federal Fair Housing Law.
I E Y+C� ,TIFY that the foregoing resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the �ity t�f Redding on the 3`� day of Marcha 2026, and was duly adopted at said meeting
by the following�ote:
