Recommendation Authorize staff to schedule a Special Meeting on January 26, 2026, at 5:15 p.m. to discuss budget revenue projections; or provide alternate direction to staff. Fiscal Impact There is no �scal impact associated with scheduling a Special Meeting. AZteNnative Action The Council could choose not to schedule the Special Meeting on January 26, 2026, and/or provide alternate direction to staff. Background/Analysis During Item 12 at the January 6, 2026, City Council meeting, Council Member Audette requested staff move forward with re-scheduling the budget work�hop on revenue projections which was originally scheduled as a Special Meeting for December 18, 2025. Council Member Audette requested a Special Meeting be sch�duled as soon as possible within the next two weeks. Council Member Resner suggested that the meeting be scheduled before the end of the month to allow staff flexibility in scheduling the meeting. Vice Mayor Dhanuka requested the meeting be rescheduled as soon as possible, but encouraged flexibility to accommodate everyone's calendars. Mayor Littau concluded that staff should check calendars and circle around. After the January 6, 2026, City Council meeting, several Council members expressed different views on the appropriate pathway forward. Report to Redding City Council January 16,2026 Re: 9.1(b)--Confirm Special Meeting to Discuss Revenue Projections Page 2 Staff has identified January 26, 2026, as a date which meets the criteria specified in the Item 12 discussion for a Special Meeting to discuss and potentially modify revenue projections for the City's current biennial budget and is seeking confirmation from the Council to move forward with scheduling the Special Meeting on January 26 and/or alternate direction from Council on the preferred path forward. Environmental Review This is not a project defined under the Cali�ornia Environmental Quality Act, and no further action is required.
