WHE A�, the Redding Civie Auditorium ("Civic Auditorium"}, forrnerly known as the
Redding Convention Center,has historically served as an entertainment and mee�ing venue hosting
various commercial and corrxmunity events; and
WHE AS, Advance Redding leases frc�m the City of Redding ("City) certain real property
located at 700 Auditariurn Dr., Redding, �A 96001 ("Premises"), al�o known as the Civic
Auditorium, upon which Advance Redding aperates and rnainta�ns the Premises as a venue for
hosting artistic,cultural,community,educational,performing arts,eonventions,trade shows,other
community purposes and similar events; and
WI�EI2EAS, the City recognizes the ect�nomic and cultural value brought ta the community
through sustainable operations of the Civic Auditorium, and
WHE ' AS,zn 2014 the Redding City Council adopted Resolution No. 2014-t�25 which dir�cted
the City Manager to deposit the $600,000 in proceeds fr�m a �eal estate purchase and sale
agreement between the City of Redding anc� The McConnell Foundation for the Sheraton Hotel
property,into an accaunt established to be utilized for the sale purpose of costs related to capital
improvements and deferred mait�tenance to the Civic Auditorium; and
WHE AS, with the addition of ongoing�ease payments and interest, the cui�rent balance of tl�e
accaunf is $675>445.57; and
VVI-�E ��,at their August 19,2t�25,meeting,the Redding City Ct�uncil directed staff ta release
the entirety of said funds to Advance Redding through a grant �greement for the sol� purpose of
supporting aperations of the �ivic Audit�rium, pursuant to the requirements of the grant
agreement;

l. The use af sa�d fi�nds are redirected from thas� uses outlined in Resc�lution No. 2d14-025
and redirected to supporting Advance Redding's operating costs at the Civic Auditorium;
and
2. The Mayor is authorized to negotiate and enter into a grant agreement, not to exceed
$675,445.2�, with Advance Redding for the sole use to support its operating costs at the
Civic Auditorium.

meeting of the City Councii of the City of Redding on the 2nd day of 5epfiember, 2025, by the
