On July 15, 2025, by Resalution No. 2025-Q52, the City Council approved the Engineer's Report as filed relating to Sanitary Sewer Maintenance I7i�trict 01-25 (District) and gave notice c�f the time and p�ace of the September 2, 2025, public hearing regarding the Ievy and collectic�n af assessments for F1sca1 Year 2026-2�, B. Map of the area in the distr�ct is attached and made a part hereaf. C. The public hearing, duly and properly noticed, comrnenced at the City Council Chambers; 777 Cypress Avenue, Redding, California, on September 2, 2025, and conciuded prior to th� adoption af this Resalution. At the public h�ar�ng; the City Council gav� every interested person an opportunity to speak ta the proposed assessments. D. The ballots were counted and no rnajority protest was made to the fc�rmation of Sanitary Scwer Ivlaintenance District 01-25. E. All legal prerequisites to the adoption of this resolution have accurred. NQW, THE FO " , IT I� HlE BY �OLVED by the City Council �f the Citiy of Redding as follows: 1. The foregoing recitals are true and correct. 2. The City Council has considered all aral statements and written protests or communications macie or filed by interested persons at the public hearing af September 2, 2025, and expressly overrules any and all protests filed objecting to the praposed assessments tt� be levied in the District. No majority protest was made to the formation of Sanitary 5ewer Maintenance District 01-25. 3. The City Cbuneil finds that the Engineer's Repc�rt has fairly and properly appc�rtic�ned the costs of the improvements to each residential unit in the district in proportion to the estimated benefits to be received by each benefit unit from the improvements. 4. Pursuant to Streets and Highways Code Section 582'1, the City Council hereby appro�ves the Assessments contained t�n the Engineer's Report, as filed with the City Clerk, and thereby confirms and adc�pts the assessment of the assessment district contained in the Engineer'� Report. 5. The territory within the map af the assessrnent district set forth in the Engzneer's Report is hereby formed anto an assessment district under the Tmprovement Act of 1911, Chapter 26, Maintenance I�istricts (Streets and Highways Code Secti�n 5820, et seq.), to be hereafter known as Sanitary Sewer Maintenance District C?1-25. 6. Only costs for necessary repairs, replacements, fuel, pQwer, electrical current, care supervision and all ather items necessary for the property maintenance and c�peration therec�f as authorized by 5treets and Highways Code Sections 5821 will be assessed. Pursuant to Governmen# Code Section 53'739, the amount of each fiscal year's assessment shall be adjusted for inflatic�n in an arnt�unt not to exceed that provided by the "20 Cities Construction Costs Index" from th� most recent March Engineering News Record and shall become effecfive July l, 2027, and every July 1 thereafter. 7. An assessment of $333.10 per benefit unit located within SSMD 01-25 for Fiscal Year 2026-27 is adapted and confirmed, 8. The City Clerk�hall forthwith transfer to the Auditor-Contraller and the Assessor-Recorder of Shasta County a certified copy of this resc�lution and a certified copy of the assessment district rnap contained in the Engineers Report for Sanitary Sewer Maintenan�e District Ol- 25.
