Charles Bull, operator of the Yellow Cab Company in N.edding, asked that a date
be set for a hearing to increase Cab rates 20;�. .��s. �ull sLated that the Cab
� Company is still operating under 193g rates, Trie Council set date of regul�ar
meeting of IVov, 3, 1947 for the hearing.
BGY SCUUTS:
In reference to a donation to t}�e �oy Scouts, �ity l�tty r6tled that sucYi�a dona-
tion could not be classified as advertising or promotion to th� City, there-
fore such a donation could not be made.
R, A. Nox=e11 appeared for the Youth Center Commi.ttee of the Kiwanis Club and asked
the City Council to consider presenting the �lub with a deed for property at the
N end of Butte Stl that the present recr•eation building stands on. They would
accept a deed lvhereby the property would rever�t to the cit;� if it ceased to be
used for ttie pre��n�h u�� e; or t�►�t the Kitivanis Club ilii.�ht buj� for a consider-
ation and guarantee�� a �TuU foz• Butte St, through the pr•operty. The ma.tter

" the Hotels in Redding in regard to char�es for use of the sewer Systern in
Redding; triat three hotels would be paying 10'� of the cost of using city
sewers, which in his rnind is exhorbitant. The Council assured i�ir, Vaizghh
that changes may be made when it is proven that inequalities exist in the ,
charges, and asked the City ivlanager to check into t}��,e matter very carefully.

con.sidered tne presnet Ordinance ad�quate, but asked the Clerk to reply to
aaid parties to the effect-that�.the Cauncil would be pleased to grant them a

A telegram announced the arrival of the �riendship Train to ��ss through
Sacramento, Calif. on Nov. 9, 1947 enroute to the East Coast with provisions
f�at starvai�ng �uropean people. The City� �ouncil endorsed tLe plan and turned
it over to the City �'�r, and asked that all other City Ofiicials baci� him
in the collection of provisions from this vicinity. Motion was made by Cou.ncil-
