The meeting was called to order by iulayor Buchea. Un roll-call the
following Councilrnen were present: kndersori, Dunlap, Haskell, Swdrts
and Buchea�.
The minutes ofrthe previous rneeting were read, corrected and approved.

Councilman Swar•ts moved, seconded by Councilman Dunlap to adopt Resolution
No, 11�.6$ to authorize execttu on of ProjPct Statement #11+ for the Division
of Highways which authorizes. -ex�pendi�urei'of �2500.U0 of moneys assigned
to the City of Redding for use on Streets of �ajor Importance to install
"Stop” and"!!Go" signals on �iarket Street at Placer and Tehar,ia Sts in the
City of Redding. Votin� was as follows:

Councilman Dunlap moved, seconded by Councilman Haskell to adopt Reso. �1469
authorizing installation of "Stop" and QGo" signals on �a.rket Street at
Placer and Tehama Streets; that �250G.00 of the moneys assigned to the Cit�t
of Reddin� be used for that purpose; and that the sum of �61250.U0 be used
tor.aair�tain��Sta�e Highway Routes 3 and 20 in the City of Hedding, and the
sum of �p110U.0U be used to finance cost of clearing R/ti� on Cypress Ave,
Route 2C in the City of Redding. Voting was as follows:

CounciLuan Anderson moved, seconded by Counciln►an Swarts to adopt Reso. �
3�1L�70 to amend Uver-all Salary Resolution to pay the City Judge a salary
of $�lOU.OG per month, effective as of Jan�ry 6, 1947. Voting was as
follows:

The City I��ianager read a letter from the State of Calif. Division of Forestry
dated January 22, 1947, stating tr:at as the situation now stands, the buildings
on land recently purchased from the City of 1?.edd:ng b,�r the State ofCalif.
and is in possession of the State are deemed property of the State of Calif.

Councilrrian Swarts moved that the City �rianager be given per•mission to adve�tise
for rnaterials for .sid��ialki�onstrue�ion; that the City Attornex be given
permission to superintend advertising of sidewalk materials. 1�`iot3o�ly;ta�

19�+4-45 and 1945-46 Audit:
Councilman Dunlap moved that the 19�+4-45 and 1945-46 audit be accepted,
approved, placed on file, and the bill paid. Motion was seconded by
Councilmen Anderson. Voting was as follows:
Ayes: Councilmen: Anderson, Dunlap, Haskell, Swarts and Buchea.
Noes: Councilmen: None

It suggested by Couhcilrnan Anderson that recommendations as set forth in
the above audit be followed. After general discussion, decision was held
for fur�her study.
RESOLUTIOPJ N0. 1471: re: NATIC)NAL FOFtESTS:
. Councilman Anderson moved that the City Attorney be authorized to draw up
Resolution No. 1471 to petition Congress to provide adequate funds to
the United States Forest Service for suppression of Forest Fires and
control of rodents and g��her pests. And that said Resolution be forwarded
, to Washington D, C. by the Cit�r.Ivianager. Motion was seconded by Councilrnan
Haskell. Voting was asfollows:

Councilman Dunlap moved, seconded by Councilman Haskell to adopt. Re�o �1472
authorizing execution of lease of Redding i�iunicipal Airport facilit�es to
Southwest Airways Co, retroactive to December 15, 191+6. Voting w as as
follows:

RESOLUTION N0. 1473: Sou.thern Pacific Spur Track: �
Couhci].man Swarts moved, seconded by Counci].i�ar. Anderson to adopt Reso.
#1473: granting Southern Pacific Company permission to construct a s�aur
tract across R.ailroad Ave. at or near South Street. Voting waa as followa:

C OF R CGh�PREHENSIVE LIABILITY INSURANCE: �
City Attorney Carlton called ��e�City Council's attention to the fact that
the City's Cor.iprehensive Liability Insurance is low. After general dis-
cussion, Clark R. P1ye was authorized to make a survey of all city ���¢�,a�
insurance policies; a study to be made by �ir. Nye, the City Atty and tY,e
` Ci.ty ld�anager and presented to the City Council.
MANAG�HIP OF THE REDDING �IUNICIPAL AIRPORT:
City tvianc�ger Neal read three petitions f rom different parties who are
interested in mana�ing the Redding �iunici�pal Airport, namely:
1. Pacific Air Transport �
2. Benna and Vdard
3. Dunbar and H. J. Bachtold
Copies of these letters to be supplied to the City Council by the
Cit,y �ianager's office.
As there was no further business, the meeting w as adjourned.
