The meeting was called to order by �iayor Buchea. On ro 11-call the
follow ing councilmen were present: Anders�n, Dunlap, Haskell, Swarts

SPECIAL ELECTIUN
Dj,SCUSSlOTl had to deterrnine whether or not a specia.l election to be
consolidated with th e Ganeral Election on November 5, 191�6, shall be
called, at which election there shall be subr�itted to the voters the
question of whether or not th e City Clerk an d�or the City Treasurer
shal]. be appoi.nted by the Council instead of' being elected.

OLUTION CALLING SP�CIAL ELECTION
Resolution calling .for such special election and setting forth rules
governing same read by C�;ty Attor�ney Plewto::. Moved by Councilman
Anderson that this Resolution call.ing for such Special Election be
adopted and triat the City Clerk have notice of such election published
. as required by law. Notion seconded by Councilman Swarts. Voting
was as fo llows:
Ayes: Councilmen; Anderson, Haskell, Swarts.
Noes: Councilm��: Dunlap and Buchea
Absent: Councilmen: None

, Moved by Councilman Anderson that pursuant to the above Resolutien, the
matter of whether or not the �ity Clerk ar.d/or City Treasurer shall be �
appointed by the Council instead of beinF elected shall be placed on the
ballot at the Special Election on November 5, 191�6. Seconded by .Councrlman
Swarts. Voting was as fo llows;
Ayes: Councilmen: Anderson, Haskell, Swarts.
Noes: Councilmen: Dunlap and Buchea

Discussion regarding swi.nun_ing pool sh owed insufficient time between now
a.nd ti me of General Election to publiah necessary notices in oraer to
place question of bonded indebtedness £or such pool on ballot. t�ir.
Green, City Engineer, gave rough estirnate of appraximately �215,000.00
as the oo st of this pool.

City kttorney Newton requested City Engineer Green to fur,nish necessary
engineering data to advertise for bic�s for repair of PJiunicipal Airport
lldministration Building. �

After discussion of a sewer connection with certain property of Stanc�a.rd
Oil Co., of California, a Corporation, south of Grange Street and east
of U. S. �il�way 99, no action taken. Matter to be discussed further
at next Council meeting. �
There being no fur•ther business, it was moved by Cour�cilman Dunlap,, ax�
seconded by Councilman Anderson that the meeting adjourn. �
