Councilmen were present: Anderson, Dunlap, Haskell, Swarts and Buchea.
Budgets were discussed further.

The meeting was called to order by 11ayor Buchea. On roll -call the
following Councilmen were present: Anderson, Dunlap,-H&skell, Swarts
and Buchea.
Budgets were discussed further.
As there was no further business, the City Council, Sitting as Board
of Equalization and discussion of 1946-47 Budgets adjourned the meeting.

SETTLEMENT OF UTILITY ACCOUNT:
Councilman Anderson moved that the City of Reddng accept the compromise
and settlement on Forni Hall utility account as per recommendation of
City atty Newton in letter of June 20, 1946. Seconded by CoVncilman
Haskell. Voting was as follows:
Ayes: Councilmen: Anderson, Dunlap, Haskell, Sviarts and Buchea.
Noes: Councilmen: None
Absent: Councilmen: None

Date of August 5, 1946 was set for Hearing on Closing of Ptn of Dakyn
Street between Magnolia and Orange Avenues.
REZONING= OF COURT STREET: PROTEST
A letter dated July 12, 1946 from W. D. Tillotson, protesting to rezoning
of Court Street: hearing having been set by Planning Commission; the
City Council referred same to the Planning Commission.
RENE117AL OF LEASE: ,BEACON SITE, AIRPORT:
Councilman Dunlap moved to accept a renewal of the lease of the Beacon
Site at the 1fiunicipal Airport by the U. S. Govt.; second by CounciLnan
Ouni/ap, Voting was as follows:

as per Ordinance No. 268: by All&n — Eastlund.

to the :notion was made by Councilman Haskell. Voting was as follows:

District No. 1 Supervisor 0. ii. Turner asked the Cityn Council about
tenoning of the Old High School Lots on ;1fe-st and Placer Streets.
This was referred to the Planning Commission.
BIDS ON PUBLIC_yTICAdS
Bids were opened for City of Redding advertising:
Shasta Dial: 55¢ per legal square for first insertion; and 350 per
square for subsequent insertions.
Redding decord: 60¢ per legal square fir first insertion; and 40¢
per legal square for subsequent insertions.
Councilman Dunlap moved that the Shasta Dial receive any weekly publications,
and that the Redding Record receive publications th4t the weekly paper
is unable to handle. Seonnd by Councilman Swarts. Voting was as follows:
Ayes: Councilmen: Anderson, Dunlap, Haskell, Swarts and Buchea.
Noes: Councilmen: None

SPECIAL COUNCIL u FETING
Council Chambers, City hall,

The meeting was called to order by ,ayor Buchea. On roll—call the
following Councilmen were present: Anderson, Dunlap, Haskell, Swarts and
Buchea.
KUTRAS TRACT TRANSACTION:
Councilman Swarts moved to give the City Attorney and the City Manager
permission to negiotate with Kutras for leasing of the south 1/2 of the
Kutras Tract, containing 225 acres more or less which includes the lake;
provided that said lease can be terminated at any time by the City —
first payment to come due September 1, 1947; any income from any source
to go to the City of Redding. Second by Councilman Haskell.
Councilman Dunlap moved to amend the. above motion to purchase the South
1/2 for the sum of $115,000.00 — motion passed for want of a second.
Voting on first motion was as follows:
Ayes: Councilmen:;Andersont Haskell, Swarts and Buchea.
Noes: Councilmen: Dunlap
Absent; Councilmen: None
As there was.no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
