In regard to bid dated Iviay 6, 1946: Lauren Jones was granted the concession
at �hhe North City Park for the current season with the exception of for the
daqs of July 3 and t�, 1946; and the City Atty was authorized to draw up a
contract and see that th ere is adequat� l��.bility insurance; by a motion
made by Couhcilman Haskell, seconded by Councilman Swarts. Voting was as
follows:

Chas. Jones asked for the City Farm pasturage for the Redding Faffii.ly Riding
Club; and was asked by the City Couhcil to check with the City Atty oh the
City�s lease to the Sheriff's Posse.
TO Ap�iEI�1D TAXI ORDINANCE N0. 250:
Atty Ira Sha�dwell, representing Chas. Bull, owner and operator of th e �
Yellow Cab Company in Redding, asked that the T�i-Cab Ordinance i�250
be au�ended. The matter was referred to the City Atty and the Chief of
Police.
B�SEBALL PARK•
Stanley DeForest from the Board of Directors of th� Redding Base-ball
�lubs asked thatthe Ball Clubs be allowed to sell advertising on the
fences of the Ball Park. This was authorized by a motion made by
Coun�ilman Haskell and seconded by Councdilman Dunlap. Voting was as
follows:

Charles Jones asked for posts and reflectors to be placed at I,,iarket
and Hill Street turn.
REZONING ��ST STREET:
Atty Carr brought up subject of rezoning of East Street as per appli-
cation of 4Vayne Ross and Oris Ia2cKee, Councilman Dunlap moved that East
Street remain zoned as it is, 7�otion did not carry for want of a
second. CounciLnan Anderson made a motion to grant rezoning of W 5� ft
of lots 1 and 2 and W 7G ft of lot 3, Original 4�own of Redding from
first resider:tial �to Commercial by change of zoning map ar�d instructe�
City Atty to prepare necessary papers to effect such changes, complying
with the r�:unicipal Code. Voting was as follows: �

PARKING PROBI.Elti;S:
Following letter dated May 3, 194b was received by the City Council from
the Redding Chamber of Commcrce: Gent�emen: "If the parking limit law
w�,s strictl.y enforced would there be sufficient pa.rking spaces to accomo-
date motorists, making parking meters unnecessary? That question was
brought up at the Chamber directors meeting last ni�,ht and -they decided
to pass the problern on to you. There is no question about the deplorable
parking situation in Redding and that something should bd done about it
at once, The Chamber directors believe it would be well to enforce our
present laws and see:w�s�aha,t h�npens before we condider any further expendi-
ture.'� Councilman A�nd'er,son made a rnotion, seconded by Councilman Haskell
that the Police Department be instructed to enforce all Motor Vehicle
laws including parking,reckless driving, etc to the utmost limit. Voting
was as follows:

DIV�RSION OF HEAVY TRAFFIC OFF MARKET STREET:
The City Atty announced that a State of Calif. Committee �eeting for
city and county jointly would be held on June 1G, 19t+6 to study street
and highway problems in conjuriction with the Chamber of commerce.
AMEND UCCUPANCY ZONI�IG ORDI1dANCE:
Councilman Anderson made a motion seconded by Councilman Haskell to
waive first reading of Ordinance to amend Occupancy Zonin� Ordia�ance,
adding section 443. Voting was as follows:

Alma Hinds of the He & H. Flying ervi ce a e �..ni�cipal A�_rport made a re-�ort
of activities and proposed hangars: she asked permission to charge �7.50 per
month rental on proposed hangars, the City to get �5.00 from thi.s amount. Mrs.
:, Hinds reported that �.f the airport kad a shop building they could handle Vet-
erans' Adm:inistration Flying Traini_ng. The Committee on Airports is to checv.
STORAG� TANKS
Hudolph 9Vright was present to check on regulations on the installation of gasoline
storage tanks and sidewalks along the Sta.te Hi.�;hway. >
