Phil Storm, 9uperintendent of the Garbage Department reported that a piece of linolewm ;rhich rrould be classified as trash rres ' hauled acray. J. V. Stanton - Driveway A lett�r dated Segte;�ber 1�, 1945 from J. V. Stanton was read protesting the condition of approach from the street to his garage on South Street; the Clerk �vas instructed to infoim Mr. Stanton that South Street rrould be graded and resurfaced. This would raise the south side of SouthSStreet along his curb-line about 6 inches crhich would take care of the high ramp into his garage. Vacations for Street De�rtment Enployees P. rr. Conventian Clyde A.mesbury, president of the Sportsnen�s Association, A1 Vitzham and �nest Breuning spoke in behalf of the Convention to teke plece October 19,20, and 21, 19[}5• They said it is to be a public ciYYair and expect about 200 delegates, and asked the Council for �300.00 to uelp finance it. CounciL�nan Haskell made a motion, seconded by Cour.cilman Brennan to assist them �.vith $300.00 because they are a young organization ' and are holding aa af£air for the public. Hereafter they will be able to support themselves. Fire F�ydrants in Benton Tract Ei.�ner Junkans, property owner in the 5entoa Tract, applied to the City Council for a fire hydrant near his property which r�uld be fire protection to his property and others in that vicinity. Grade South 47aldon 9venue Otis Hollibciugh appeared before the C1ty Council to ask tk�at tbe 2400 .and 2500 blacks of i�aldon Avenue be graded before �rinter. State Compeasation Insurance Mr. �cDevitt of the St2te Compensatiori Insurance Fhnd appeared before the City Council to er.plain hon the City is charged nith a 17'� increase itt pre:niuta because of accident experience over tbe �st five years. Nathan Rosenbawn appenred before the City Council to appeal a bill on file for linoleum they claim tt�e City Carbage Depcirtment hauled a�ay; but said that when they visited the dump the linoleum rras not there nor Yiad aqy burn- ing been done; it ivas decided tlmt the City Council r�ould investigate the incident. City Planning ' Chttrles Akard, Chairman of the Reddin� Planning Commission, reported that he had invited the Shasta County Plannin� Commission to meet with the City Planning Cocsnission in regard to regu3:ations of subdivisions.
