YELLOW CAB COPfPANY
Ira 13. Shadwell, Attorney £or the Yellow Cab Co. , appeared to protest vcord
' around town that the Corapany he represents are over charging fares, and regorted
that meters had been rechedked and r�ere okaq. He extended the City Council
an inv�.tation to ri.de r+ithout charge in oi•der to prove his statements.
PF,tiNINGTON - GARBAGE
U,r. Pennington appeared and protested sercice charge on garbage collection,
he stated that in January and February 1944, his rate r.as �3.SQ then raised
to �5.�� per month. He protested the amount and his garbage service �:as stopped
as of April 1944. Ae renorted that he had 2 cans, but no �ret garbage. Therefore
he felt that �2.00 ner .�onth vras a sufficient charge.

The City Council agreed to check crith Phil Stor�a, Supt., and make a dec=sion
on..the natter.
Later Phil Storm stated that he had used an�: aoartment hwse rate for his Auto
Coui�t. 51.00 for service plus 30¢ for each cabin vrith a minimum charge of '�5.G0
far Auto Courts with 10 cebins or more. This conforc�s all over the city. ,
GIBSON LINES
Paci£ic Greyhound representative apoeared 2nd asked to be heard if the Gibson
Lines representative c�aa to be given a hearing. As there nas no date set for a
hearing, the natter rtas passed.

Mrs. Saylor� 126Q East St, appeared and gsked about regulations on citizens
covering �arbage cans. Sanitar5 Znspector is to check on this. She also asked
�,hat elm trees be spreyed. This rras to be granted, but rrhether to set u
precendent of spraying trees inside properts o�ners yards rrould bave to be
decided in the future.
PLANS FOR SAIR'�7IHG POOL
Plsns for srriffining pool at cost of approximately ^�26�864.00 mere presented,
and City Attorney to check state laRs on whether they must be approved before -
being advertised or not.

Councilman Buchea made sotion, seconded by Council�an Brennan to caive reading
and adopt Ordinance ;%309 on Building Code repealing Ordinance ;i3o3. Voting
rras as follows:

Noes: Councilmen none.
