MINUTES OF SPECIAL, MEETING
Pursuant to written notice and waiver as follows:
"NOTICE OF SPECIAL ENING OF TIM CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF REDDING; STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
Members of the City Council,
City of Redding,
Redding, California

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED TFAT A SPECIAL MEETING will be held
at the Council 8hambers at the City Hall, Redding, California, on
Thursday, February 8, 1945+ at four P. M. The business to be trans-
acted shhll be as follows:
To fill the vacancy in the Office of the City Clerk created
by the resignatidn of BERNARD E. GIIA?ORE.
Dated at Redding, California, this 8th day of February, 1945•

I hereby consent to the holding of the meeting as described
in the Notice attached hereto and pursuant torthe^provisions of Section
858 3f the Municipal Corporations Act Relating to the holding of
Special Meetings.
Dated at Redding, California, this 8th d$y of February, 1945•
(Each Councilmen signed Individual Waiver as above written),
a special meeting was held at the Council Chambers at four o'clock,
P.M. on February 8, 1945, for the purposes designated in said Notice.
Councilman Anderson, Gronwoldt, Brennan and Dunlap were present. None
were absent.
Upon Motion duly made by Councilman Gronwoldt, and seconded by Councilman
Buchea, the office of City Clerk was made full time and the salary was
increased to Two Hundred Twenty -Five Dollars ($225.00) per.month in
accordance with the Act of the Legislature recently enacted to provide
for increaseQ of salary during the war and six months after the cessation
of each war, with the following vote:
Councilman Anderson: No
Councilmnn Buchea: Yes
Councilman Brennan: Yes
Councilman Gronwoldt: Yee
Mayor;Dunlap: Yes
Councilman Gronwoldt thereupon nominated Doris Holland for the
office of City Clerk to fill the unexpired term of Bernard E. Gilmore,
or until the next election as the law provides, and Councilman Anderson
nominated B. F. Burrows to fill the vacancy. Doris Holland was there-
upon-appointed
here-upon appointed City Clerk by the following vote:
Councilman Brennan: Yes for Holland
Mayor Dunlap: Yes for Holland
j Councilman Buchea: Yes for Holland
Councilman Gronwoldt: Yes for Holland
Coundllman Anderson: Voted for Burrows
