Bliss appeared before the City Council asking for a Contract or, Franchise to collect and dispose of Garbage in the City of Redding for a period of ten years: After discussing the matter thoroughly with Mr: Tedeschi and Mr. Bliss the Council voted unanimously in favor of giving these parties a contract.; City Attorney Mr. Glenn D. -Newton was instructed to draw up .the contract to comply with the Garbage Ordinance of the City of Redding. CAMP BEALE Mayor A. H. Gronwoldt.received a letter from Hdqtrs: 13th .Armored Div: Camp Beale; California requesting that he be present to represent the City at Redding July 4, 1943 when the 13th Armored Diviision will be adopted as California's OWN. May-Gronwoldt stated he would be present at the ceremonies. Nolfurther business apperring, the meeting was adjourned: APPROVED : .( ✓ I/f%�.. The meeting was called to order by Mayor August Gronwoldt and upon roll call by the„City Clerk the following Councilme w were present: - Anderson, Buchea, Dunlap, Harrisnn and Gronwoldt. City Attorney Glen Do.. Newton was -also present. The minute.s*of the meeting of dune 21, 1943 were approved as read. DITCH BIGGER -CYPRESS SERVER Mr. Phil Storm, Street Supt., *appeared before the City Council stating he had been unable to obtain the services of a ditch digger, which would gig to a depth of 13 feet and asked permission to obtain one in -, this bay area if possiblec Mr. Storm was .instructed t;pTpnke whatever arrangements would be necessary. BRICK AT KENNETT Mc, Storm asked permission of the Council to purchase brick to make man holes for the Cypress Street sewer and to raise approximately 50 man holes. Thepurchese price of the bric$s would be 112.00 per thousand at the Corporation Yard. Mr. Storm was given authority to purchase the necessary amount: RESOLUTION #1274 Resolution authorizing project statement -No 12', to the Dept. of Public- • Works•of the State of California Divsion of Highways and authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute the same was adopted by the following vote.:- Ayes:- Councilmen Anderson., Buchea, Dunlap, .Harrison and. Gronwoldt Noes:- None Absent:- None RESOLUTION 1275 Resolution #127755 closing the alley from Olive Street to 1. Street in ioote:- the dezler Subdivision was adopted by the following Ayes:- Anderson, Buchea, ,Dunlap, Harrison, and Gronwoldt Noes:- None Absent;_ None GARBAGE -COLLECTION Ntr.
