Mr. Tremper stated that according to the �as Production Bor�rd Rulings, it is impossible to rebuild �ureka �1�y, as it would require the use of consider- � able critical materials necessary to t he war efPort. Instead oP new constru�— � . -t�tion, the street is to be repaved at a cost oP �10,000.00. Eureka Way will be resurfaced from I�arket Street to the west city limits, which is paxt of High- � Way 299w. Navy Lease Resolution No. 12� � A Motion was made by Councilman Anderson,. seconded by Counei].man Haskell that Resolution No. 1263 granting the U. S. Bids, Specifications Sewer Survey � The Council discussed the manner in which the const�ruction work should pro- cedd installing n,ew lines in the southeast part of �the city to eliminate sewers from over�lowing �ech w�nter. City Attorney, Glenn D. Newton, informed the Council t�at they could do� t'tiis work with day labor if an emergency� existed. Tt was the unanimous opinion oP� all Councilmen present an emergency��did exist, but that in order to eliminate any trouble �eith work proceeding, Councilman Anderson su��ested that City �ngine�r Geo. Mr. Earl Sholes, Acting--Chief of Police was granted permis�ion to promote Officer Marvin Woodruff_to the ran� of Detective Sergeant of the Reddmng Police Department, and also to employ.�@pilliam g. Shattuck as a new Patrol- msn. . The Council discnssed at some length card plsying establishi:�ents which -ope�rate � in the Gity of Reddiz�,: and after much discussion on this matter Mr. Glenn D.
