The second reading of �rdinance No. 294 regulating the construction and
operation of trailer and tent camps in the �ity, and providing for sani-
tary inspection and regulations for e�isting trailer and tent camps now
doing busines:y in the city, were waived by vote of. all councilmen present.

Furniture�
Mr: Geo. Pearl, Gity En�ineer� reported it would be impossibl� to obtain
furniture Prom San Quinten as they were in the war effort 100%, and
suggested bids be obtainad••from local dealers:
Buy a Bomber. Campaign
phr. y�Talter Fink spoke regardin� the "Buy a Bomber Campeign!' snd asked
City �ouncilmen to invest Eity fur.ds in war bonds in connection wi,th �this
bomber drive. By a unanimous vote the �ouncilmen authorized the p�rchase
oP bonds; the amount is to� be determined by the finance committee.

Mr. Dallas Bowler was eppointed janitor to repl��e I�r. Cleve Hous�on wha
resigned.
S�lary of the janitor was Pixed at �13'j.50 pe.r month by a unanimous note
of all Couneilmen present.�

Mr. Glenn Ne�►ton informed the�;C�ity;�Cduncil:,.that he had been rc�tained by
the CaTifornia Water S@ra�iee Company to fi�ht an action brought by Shasta
Countq to collect taxes amounting to �2'j00:00. �
l�r. Nearton aTso eap�.ained that the contract under whieh the City p�rchasea
the water° plant provided the City should� purehase it sub�e�t to taxes.
Mr. Newton was�to �appear before the Superviaors of Sh�sta County,Feb. 19th,
2943 �sking them �o c�ncel tax assessmenta against tne City and iTL the enent
this was refused asked Por authorization to bri.ng a Pdandamus action against

A motion was make by CounciTman Anderson, �econded _by Councilman Bunlap t.het
this be granted. On roll call voting was as follows;
