Upon roll call by the City Clerk, H. L. Grif Pin Jr., the following councilmen were present:- Roseoe J. A,nderson, Idan A: Dunlap, Wm. Harrison, B. P. Haskell, and A. �i. Gronwoldt. City Attorney Glenn D. �Newton was present. City Clerk A motion was made by Councilman Anderson and seconded by Councilman Dunlap that the resignation of City Clerk, H. L. GriYfin Jr., be accepted. On roll call votin� was as Pollows: _ ' Ayes: Anaerson, Dunlap, Harrison, Haskell, Gronwoldt. Noes: None . t � Absent: None A motion was then made by Councilman Anderson and seconded hy Councilman Dunlap that Bernard Ea Gilmore be appointed City Clerk to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of H. L. Griffin Jr.. On roll call voting was as follows: � Ayes:Anderson, Dunlap, Harrison, Haskell, Gronwoldt. Noes:None Abspnt: None APPLICATION.,FOR VEHICLE PER�,+IIT Mr. Ira Shadwell appeared for Mr. Chas. Bull, owner of the Yellow Cab � Company segarding his application for a Vehicle permit, which was granted by a unanimous vote of all councilmen present. The necessary check for �60,00 accompanied the application. � BUTANE ORDINANCE N0. 293 The second reading of the Ordinance Amending Sections 126'], 12']1 and 12']3 of Chapter 2 oP Article 4 of Part 4 of the �iunicipal Code of the City of Redding relatir_g to Sto�age and Handling of Liquified Petroleum Gases was waiaed by vote of all councilmen present. The Ordinance was adopted by the f olloUring vote: Ayes: �nderson, Dunlap, �Aarrison, Haskell, Gronwoldt. Noes: None Absent: None The public�ation of the Ordinance to appear in the Record-Searchlight Neaspaper. CITY PLAl�tAtING COMMISSION Al1 members of the Planning Comraission appeared before the City Council to . discuss the Nlaster Plan and also a proposed Zoning Ordinance for the City of Redding. APter a lengthy discussion by both Commissioners and Councilmen, it was agreed they had not taken up the matter for so long that they needed more time to study the Proposed Ordinance. The commission to appear at the next regul�r council meeting. By a vote of all Councilmen present the reading of the proposed ordinance was waived at this time. Fire Chief H. T. Klaukens and Building Inspector, Ralph Saeltzer, at the request of the Citg Council will attend all meetings of the Planning Co�rsnission � in the future. Bernard E. Gilmore replaced H. Z,. Gri�Ping Jr.. on the �lanr�ing Commission. TR�ILER ORDINANCE a The first reading of the House Trailer Ordinance was waived by a unariimous vote of all councilmen present. _ OFFICE SUPPLIES By a vote oP all �ouncilmen preserit office supplies in _the Puture would be purchased through the ofPice of the City Clerk. , JANITOR It was agreed by all councilmen present that the janitor be placed under the supervision oP Police Chief, John Balma. Elber �. Dick, Chairman oP the Civilian Protection Comrnittee eatended an ineitation to the City Council to attend a meeting and lecture oP t he Defense Council to be held in t he Golden Eagle Hotel, February 9th, 1943. A motion was made, aeconded and passed that the mont2ily bills be paid, There being no further business, the meeting was duly ad�ourned.
