Upon roll call by th� City Clerk, the following Councilmen were present:
R. J. Anderson, �van �. Dunlap, F3: Haskell, Ray J. Lowry, As ��e. Gronwoldt.

A r�solution of the City Gountil of the City of Redding, �dopting Budget
and �,pproving Iwiemorandurn of Agreement for �;xpenditure of � cent Gas Tau
Alloc�ted for Streets of &�ajor lmportance, was read by the City Attorney.
Gouncilman Lowry made a motion thr3t this resolution be adopted. His
motion w�s seconded by Countilman �nderson and on roll call passed by
unanimous vote.
Aanual Purehase 9greement.
The City Attorney introduced an annual purch�se agreement between the
City of Redding and �restin�house Electric ard Manufacturing Co. covering
pureb�ses to be made for the City of Redding for the period endin� June
12, i943. Councilman.Anderson mad� a motion that this purchase agreement
be ace�pted �nd that electrical ��uperintendent E. E. Dick, be authorized
to si�n this agreement. His motion was secor�ded by Councilman Uunlap and
on roll call, motion adopted by unanimous vote.
War._�;amaae Tnsurance
Councilman Andorson made a motion th�t the city take out �l'j6,910.Q0 in
V9ar Dama�e Insurance on ci�y property at a premium oP .�173..46, and t�at
this insurance be placed with th� ��neral Insurance Agency. His motio�
was s�conded by Couneilman Lo�ry and oa roll c.all motion adopted by
unanimou� vote.
City '�rustees
A letter from the trustees of' the Redding E:arnegie Library, requ�sted that
Nirs. M. Irene Kimmell and L. J. Ken�edy b� reappoi�ted as trustees of the
Publie Library t or the period er.ding July j�, ljt�. Councilrr�n Lovary �ade
a motion that this appointment be made. His motion vsas seco�ded by Council-
man Gronwoldt and on roll call motion carried by unar�imous vote�.
Planning Commisaion
Mayor uronwoldt appointed R. J. �nderson as (:ouncilman representative to serve
on the Redding �l�iuni�g Commission. This appointment. received the sanction
of t he Council. •
Poison �ek Complaint
A letter from Misa Fanrli� Grar�t, 2902 R811road Ave. c�lled the attention
of the Council to the P�ison Oak hazard�exieting in her neighborhood. The
Clerk was instructed to refer this ietter to the health officer.
Payment of $ills
Councilcnan Haskell made a motion that the monthly bills be paid after the
auditin� �P the finance committee. His motion w�s secoaded by Councilman
Lowry and on roll c�3.11 passed by unanimous vote.
. Health Hazard
City H�alth OPficer saeltzer, discussed at lc ngth the health menace on the
Mar�sfield prop�rty. The City Attorney wss instructed to cooperate vaith the
health officer to see that this me:iace is �bated.

Sidewalk Hazard
City Attorney �ewton called the attention of the council to teuo
damage suits instituted againat the City of Redding for liability
claims caused by accidents' due to faulty sidewalks. City Engineer
Pearl stated that he has planAed a program for eliminatio� of all
sidewalk h�zarcls. �his work to be comt«enced in t}�E very near
Puture.
