T�,iotion �nas secor,ded b3= Councilman Dunlap , and upon roll call passed by unani:m.ous vote oP all counc ilmen preser:t. John.•.Balma �npoi�nted C��.ief of PQlice. Councilman Haskell made a motion that John Balma be appointed Chief of Police of the City of Hedding. Said motion seconded by Councilman Vdilii�ns, and upon roll call , approved by vote of all councilmen present. John Balma, being present, was seuorn in as Cuief of Police of tY� City of r'2edding by the City Clerk. Taxi-cab Eranchise. Ira Shadwell appeared before the City couucil in behalz of Charlie Bull, and requested tliat the franchise granted at the beginnin� of the year to Charlie and Victor Bull, be chan�ed to �he -���-L�=-=of Gharlie Bull, as the Co-partnership had beEn dissolved, and that-;.Cliarlie Bull was' not� the sole orvner, and that the sa�e req_�irements �vere bein� met under the new o�nership. Councilman Williams made a motion tnat this request be granted. P�otion was seconded by �ouncilman haskell, and upon rollcall a.��proved by vote o� all eouncilmen present. Public Liabilitv Insurance. Wm E. Craig appeared befare the �ouncil with a proposal as to Publie �iability coverage of tr:� City of Redding. He �qas advised to appear be- f'oro the council at their next meeting. Cl�l�e Nye requested permission to subr�.it a pr�posa.l on tiiis irlsurance to the Council, vahich request was �ranted. he also requested that the City Clark be aut�iorized to give him a letter to the Hartford Acciderit, and Inder.�ity Co��pany, givir�g them authority to apply to the iVational Bureau of Cas�.zal"ty and Surety Underwriters for special rates for Public Liability insurance for the City of Redding. This re�uest c�as grauted. O�inance No. 2810 An ordinance amending section 1305 of Chapter iII, Article I of the Pttuni:cipal Code of' tlie City of Reddiiig, relating to Boulevard St6tps.,, received its second reading. Councilman Dunlan made a motion that tnis ordi�.ance be adopted, motion was sQconded by Councilmazi Nilliams; upon roll call ordinance was adopted by vote of a11 councilmen pre�ent. � Urdinange Noo 2r�2.
