Upon roll call by the City �lerk, tYie following councilmen were present:

Klaukens, Chief' of' Police Riley were present, also Health Ufficer Saeltzer.
Resolution No. 12I�.
A resolution objecting on the part of the City of Redding to a Certain ta�
sale ir;tended bs the Tax �ollector oP the County of �hasta was introduced and read
- by tbe Cit�� Attorney. Councilnian 40illiams made a motion that this resolution
be adopted, seconded by Councilman Dunlap and passed by unar,imous vote of all
Councilmen present. Certified copies of t.his resolution mailed to Shasta County
Tax Col�ector, and to Shasta Coun�y Board of Supervisors.
Appointment of 0.4V. Murphy as Assistant tc
the IIealth OPficer.
A letter evas read fro.r: certain members of the Redding iulosquito Abatement
Distatict requc�sting that the Council appoint O.V�. �flurphy as Assistant to
the City Health OPficer. Upon a motion by Councilman Prilliams, seconded by
Gouhcilman Haskell, this ap pointment was approved by unanimous note of all
�our;cilman.
Adoption cf Ordinance No. 279•
On j�uly �,�,�q.l, a petition signed 'ay 489 re�;istered voters of trie City of
Redding, protesting against the adoption of Urdinarice N0. 279 "An ordinance
arnend�_ng �ectiori 1309 of the Municipal Code of tt�e Gity of Hedding Relating
to Parellel 1'arking" p�ssed and sdopted by the City Council of tY�e City
of �eddinQ on the 2nd day of June TgL}i. was fi.led with tY.e �ity Glerk. ,
A letter wss read from tYie City Attorr_ey advising trie City �lerk that� these
petitions wer.e in order. The City Glerk certified that he had received the
p�titions of protest and that he h�:d �kamined trie same from the records of
regiatration, the uote-rs in the Gity of Redding and found that said Petitions
are signed by the r�quisite number of voters.

Labor Day Parade.
Permission v�as granted to James C• Porterfi�ld, Recordin� Secretary of tY�e
Shasta County C�ntral L�bor Council to hold a parade on Labor day in accord-

were read. These letters expressed appriciation to the City for the manner
in which the Troops pessing through the City of Reddin� were handled.

Councilman i#illiams, the detailed reading of tnis proposed ordinznce was
w�ived by unanimous vote of all councilmen, or�ly the het�ding being read.

A� ordinance amending section 13U� of Ght�pter IZ1, Article I of the Ivlunicipal
Code of the City of Reddir�, relating ta :Boulevard Stops, receiYed its� first
reading.

unanimous vote.
