City Att.orney Carlton was instructed to draw up an ordinance accepting the 1949 Codes , -- .� •F+�`;4 ` �s�;L:� " GARBAGF DEPARTMENT City Manager Storm brought up the garbage situationm He mentioned that the Ci.ty of Salinas had pu.t their refuse disposal out f�or bids and that under their contract tl�ey get �250.00 per month plus-• 12� of the yearly gross receipts. �'ouncilman N�orrison stated �that our City is losing money in the Sanitary Department and that the Depart- ment should be put out for bids. Councilman Williams reminded Councilman Pflorrison that he (Williams was chairman of a committee which is making a 6 months survey of the probleme Councilman tvTarrison made a mot?on to step up the survey and advertise for bids right awaye This motion was nct secorLded. . IP•1VESTIGATION - 191�4-56 California St City Manager Storm read Dr. Collins� report .on the condition,- of the property located at 1944-56 California Street. Storm suggested that ' the Council inspect the property and discuss the matter with the property owner. Mayor Simons instructed Mr. Storm to .make .arrangements for �his meeting�. � �.EQLTES`�-UNITED STATES CREDIT BUREAU Mrd Storm presented a._request from the Ilnited States Credit Bureau asking that._they be allowed �to handle delinquent accounts.� - .C.auncilman I�lorrison asked that it be clarified that the Ua S. �r�dit Bureau is a privately-owned businesse � Councilman Vdilliams wanted to.. limit the collecting time on delinquent accounts. Councilman Swarts felt that if the matter was put up for bid that it shou7..d be given to a local business. Mayor Simons moved to let the matter ride for sixty days. � N�ERCY-HOSPITAL - Streets and Water Line City Manager Storm read copy of letter addressed to the Mercy Hospital regarding streets and a water line.
