Before retiring from office Niayor Swarts praised both retiring Conncilmen Andersori and Buchea for the splendid work they had done . while on the. boardo �The. new councilmen at this time took their seats. NZAYOR ELECT At this time =Councilman Morrison made a motion, seconded by (:ouncilman Simons, that � Couricilman William Anthony be elected Nlayor of the City of Redding. - � � � � Councilmain Arithony �at this time declir�ed the post, saying he was highly honored, but- as the City of Redding is fastly growing it would take about two hours of work each day to do a good job.. This he could not give in his present occupation.
