Gity Attorney Carlton was also present. MINUTES PREVIOtTS MEETING Mayor Swarts stated all Councilmen had received a copy of the previous meetings and if there were no objections they would not be read by the City Clerk. There is hereby added a new section to Article I, Chapter X, Part II of the Municipal Code of the City of Redding which shall be numbered 622 and which shall read as follows, to wit; "Section 622; � (a) No person shall deposit, or cause to be deposited, any oil, grease vr other form of petroleum products in any publie sewer, drain or catch basin in the City of Redding. ' (b) No person shall deposit, .or ,cause to, be-deposited, in any public sewer, drain or catch basin in the City of Redding any water or sewage or liquid waste of any kind containing chemicals or other rr�atters in solution which, by reason of the . � precipitation thereof, shall clog, obstruct or fill the same : or interfere with� or prevent the effective. use �thereof or necessitate the repair, flushing or cleaning out of such sewer, drain or catch basin to render the same operative.4t � . � i . .. 7 . • ., . Section 2. All ordinances and code sections and parts of ordinances and code sections in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Sectian 3 . ORDINANCE REGULATING AUCTIONS City Attorney Carlton read an o�dinanee regulating auctions in the � City of Redding, which was affered as the first reading by Councilman Nlorrison. � PROPOSED ORDINANCE PINBALL' MACHINES At this time Councilman. Anthonp stated :due to the strong opposition against pin ball machines in Redding, he would make a motion that the City Council take no further action and that the present ordinance remain the same unchanged. The ��otion was seconded by Councilman Anderson. On roll call voting was as follows: Ayes: Couneilmen; Anderson, Anthony, .,Buchea, Morrison and Swarts. Noes: Councilmen: None. Absent; Councilmen: None. - JOHN ALWARD - BUS RATES . l�pplieation for an increase in bus�.�ratets was brought before .the Council by City Manager Storm, stating the action of the Public IItilities Commission had granted an increase effective.February 15, 1950. A motion was then made by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Buchea, -that�the �rates be� approved as. per the Public Utilities Cammissionts report. Saylor� appeared before the Council asking permission to use either Tiger Field, � or a piece. of land south of the tennis courts, for a football� field�. �After discussing� the mat�ter�. at some length, it was referred to �the �Park-: Committee,- who= would make a report at a later meeting. J. P. BRENNAN, COMPLETION OF BUILDING NNNICIPAL AIRPORT - � A letter from J. P. Brennan regarding compl�etion of job at Redding Municipal Airport was read to the City Council by City Manage�r Storm. No action was taken on this matter until the; Cauncil made an a.nspec- tion of the building. CITY I�IANAGER'S MEETING. SANTA BARBARA _ _ _ . _ _ At this time City Manager Storm asked permission to attend the Spring Meeting of City Nianagers in Santa Barbara this month. A motion was then made by Councilrr�an Anderson, seconded by Councilman Buchea, that this r.equest be granted..
