Mayor Anderson at this time, stated sll Councilmen have been receiving a copy of the minutes of Council Neeting;s and the re�din� of the minutes of 4ctober 4 1948 would be eliminated unless Any Councilman present would want them to b� � read. No councilman present wished to have thcse minutes read by the City Clerk _ and ft4ayor Anderson stated theZ� wol.ld be approved as per cop,y received b�;, each member. E��,'�PLOYr;ES � PEi1SI0TT PI,��T: City �ttorney �arlton brought the matter before the City Gnuncil reg;arding the �:.ension planc�which was to be voted upon at a special eleotion. The Cit,y Attorney discussed this matter at some length with the Council members and it w�s their opinion th.at the City should w�it until Sh�.sta Count,y acts on an employee pension plan �,efore submitting the �ity's pension plan to the voters for beir_g accepted or rejected. The City C1erk and City N��nager were instructed to obtain all necessary information �'egardin� this plan. RESIGN�TION - H. E. The name of Attorrey Rich�xd B. Eaton vsas offered and a motion. w�_s made by Councilman Anthony and seconded by Councilman Swarts that Richard B. Eaton be appointed by the Council to reple.ce H. E. Pat McC�rty �n the �?lanning Commission, the term to expire PYlarch 5, 1a52. SFiELSTA VIEW - OAK RIDGE Si.'BDIVISIdIdS �City N`iena�er Storm and City Engineer Green discussed with the Co�.�ncil members the possibility of' opening up an entrance to Shasta View 8nd Oe.k l�idge Subdivisions. After discussinP this matter at some len�th Cit,y �-ttorney Carlton and City Manager Storm were instructed to obtain informatiari as to what land the city has title to in this p�rticular area. Ha11in� had donated a clock for the Council Chambers at the City Hall and. a motion was made by Ceuncilman �wArts and seconded by �ouncilrr�.n Anthony that the City Clerk direct a communication to Mr. Halling thanking him for his donation. Councilman Anthony states Njrs. Edith C. Souza had called him several times on the telephone regardin;; the payment of her claim for work done for the Cit,y Tax Callector. After councilmen discussed this matter, it tivas re£erred to City Attorney Carlton. l�he vrork whic h was done by hirs. Souza was don.e at her home and official recorcts should not leave the City Hall. Also Ci.ty �,ttorney stated no one had authorit,y to hire employees under the CitJ N.anager form of government except the City N,ana�er. A motion 'was ma.de by Coun.cilman Anthon,y and seconded by Councilman S;�,�arts th�t the�,�matter be referred to City Attorney Carlton. for his decis�yion.
