Redding, Calif. -
Gentlemen: ,
I submit herewith the request of Mr. C. F. Brouillard.for a variance to
perrnit multiple dwelling on'prbperty now zoned as' singl`e dwelling area.
Mr. Brouillard proposes to move two dwellings to the two lots on the
southwest corner of Calif. Street and Riverside Dra.v.e. One to be used
as a. singe farnily .dwelling and one to be converted into an apartrnent
building. =
At the regular meeting of Planning Commission on Feb. '27, 1950, the
Planning Commission unanimously approved a variance to permit con-
struction of an apartment on these same lots. However, the plans at that
time did not materialize,, and hence this recommendation was n.ot submitted
to the council.
I have contacted Mr.s. Ben Mason, an adjacent property owner, and she
has no objections to the granting of this request for variance. Mrs. Hanson
is out of town at present, and therefore, I was unable to obtain her opinion.
Mr, Y. Lorenzo, owner of property adjoining on the west, who has a rental
on the rear of his property advised that he-objected to the moving in .of old
buildings because in his opinion it would adversely a'ffect the value of his

Dear r. Dick:
Enclos d you will find a check in the amount of $261. 44 for the
rental : f B'.enton Airport for the period of January ,1, 1952 to June
30, 19 Z.
At this tirne I would also like to draw your attention to. the fact that
we do esperately need a fence from the Ad inistration building to
the bou dary markers to eliminate the possiility of persons walking
into th parking area for airplanes. We do not at this time have any way
of keep'ng persons including children frorn corning in close proximity of
incomi g and outgoing airplanes; this is a very dangerous condition.
Sincerely /s/ Alma Hinds

Gentlemen: -
I,beg :to call your attention to, the fact that since the installation of
' curb and gutter we have a sluggish. stream running:on two sides of
our property at corner of Garden and Lincoln .5treets.
The water is eausing a mud hole situation be.tween the curb and
sidewalk, is urisightly and damaging to. the street, and a general
nuisance, The steam did not run this course until the curb
and gutter was p:ut in, I consider it damaging to my property. '
' Since.the' improvernent cost will probabl.y be. unbearably high,
it is hoped you will find a way to correct this situation before .
further work_is done.
