Voting was as follows: Ayes: Councilmen - Anthony, Holyfield, Sirnons, Smith and Williams Noes: Councilmen - None Absent: Councilmen - None . : FIRST METHODIST CHURCH - Sewer Line City Engineer Hill asked council action on the First Methodist Church Sewer line as outlined in their letter.dated Apz�l 15th and incorporated in the minutes of the regular meeting of April 21st. Bids are to be opened May 9th, and it will be necessary for the contracto:r to know the city's disposition of the problem before that time. Mayor Williams referred this subject to the Street Committee, Joseph Smith, Chair- man. � WATER - SUNSET TERRACE Mr. Glenn Newton, attorney for the Sunset Terrace residents and 1Vlr. Tom Woods, subdivider, presented an agreement drawn by him for Mr. Woods. This agreement calls for an amount of approximately $10., 000. 00 to be paid 1VIr. Waods in four (4) annual installments beginning this year, which sum is reimbursement for the �ipe installed by him for service of water to this area. This agreement calls for reim- bur sement for Unit #1 only. Councilman Simons asked that this subject be held over for a latter meeting that this agreement be read and studied, and Mayor Williams referred the matter to the Water Committee, Gouncilman Holyfield, Chairman. : OATH OF OFFICE. The City Clerk administered the;oath of office to Mr. Elbert Dick for City Manager, and Mr. Alvin Cibula, for City, Attorney. SIDE.WALK CONSTRUGTION - LOGUST STREET .MOTIQN: Niade by Councilman Sin�mons, seconded b.y Councilman Anthony that side- walk construction be permitted to proceed on Locust Street, Grape .Street, and East Street, as outlined in the letter dated April 15th signed by Clair A. Hill and-incor- porated in the minutes of the meeting of April 21st. Voting was as follows: Ayes: Councilmen - Anth.ony, Holyfield, .Simons, 5mith and Williams _ Noes: Councilmen - None Absent: Councilmen - None REQUEST - REDDING TENNIS ASS°N. The request of the Redding Tennis AssFn. presented to the council on April 21st and incorporated in the minutes of that meeting was referred to the Parks Committee for study and their recommendation for the budget for the fiscal year 1952-53_. � LEAGUE OF CALIF. CITIES - APPOINTMENT OF CO-ORDINATOR - _At the suggestion of Couricilman Sirnons, Mayor Williams accepted the post of co-ordinator to work with the League of Calif. Cities on suggested problems. PLANNING COMMI5SION City Attorney Cibula requested council approval of his attendance at the Planning Commission crxiee.ting of that evening, which request was granted. . �V1�OODLAWN AND GRANDVIEW WATER PIPE LINE GONSTRUCTION MOTION: Made by Councilman Simans and seconde.d by Councilrnan Holyfield to� approve the plans and authorize the advertising of bids for the construction of the pipe lines for water service to. the Woodlawn and Grandview areas. LINE.:CONSSRUCTION . _City Erigineer Hill informed.the council that plans on the B.enton water line con-. struction will be submitted to�the'council `at the meeting of May 5.th.
